If you are one of those people who looked at somebody sideways for how they react to some jam, it's because you've never had good jam. Period. Anyway, the hubs and I decided to hit up this joint, we got there around 11:45 on a Saturday. First visit ever. We reviewed the menu, placed our order and grabbed a table. The hubs drinknof choice was the peach-berry lemonade. I took a sip and my lips went to an immediate pucker while i did a happy dance. Probably a perfect drink to have, (especially after you have partaken). I had the caramel mocha iced latte. Delicious. Chocolate heavy, not a bad thing, this one nailed it. Immediately MY NEW GRANDMA came to welcome us and bring us silverware and made sure we had everything we needed and then some!! The hubs had the Frittaffle (still not sure how to pronounce but I love trying) and I chose the retro plate. The frittaffle is an omlette but the egg is cooked via wafflemaker I believe. I've never seen such a fluffy egg in my life. Cooked to perfection. My retro plate was 2 eggs made to order (over easy baby), bacon, a biscuit and sausage gravy. MY NEW GRANDMA said "no no, you need the jam". So she brought me some butter and jam. I'm not exaggerating when I say THIS WAS THE BEST JAM I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE EXISTENCE. That jam ended up on every single piece of food on my plate. ALWAYS GET THE JAM. And then I made the connection. When we first looked at the menu and we read the peach-berry lemonade had jam in it, I was curious and then forgot. No, it all makes sense now. Because when I tried the jam, I said outloud "I'd stick a straw in this and drink it". I HAD ALREADY DONE SO. Bravo!!!!! My gawd what a time I was having. We ate. We were in heaven. The smash hashbrown things? Devine. Not a single crumb was spared. If we couldn't eat it all it was coming home with us. What we didn't know, is each meal comes with an iced cinnamon biscuit with the icing stuff.... what. Just rocking my world over here. My new grandma said "let me get you more jam" and she broughtbus more and asked "may i" and she drizzled our biscuits with that jam like a master chef, like the queen of drizzle. I shared a picture. Go ahead... try not to drool. The hubs could only make it thru half the biscuit as we were blimps at this point. And you know what my new grandma did?! She brought him more icing and a second biscuit to take home. Now I'll share my new grandma. But you better be nice. The people: everyone was kind, thoughtful, and so friendly. When we were struggling towards the end with the itis... the one beautiful queen of a woman clocked us. She saw me from a mile away. She offered to bring us waters to wash it down and my oh my she was so funny and dream to meet. And without asking she knew exactly how many boxes and such we needed and brought it to us and I am telling you she deserves all the love. Everyone there actually at minimum said hi and were so kind and honestly this is the best experience I've ever had in a restaurant/place of business. It's been 2 hours since we left. And we haven't shut up about it. Ive already told like 5 other people and sent pictures. I LOVE YOU NEW FAMILY!!! Especially you, my new grandma. 💜 Of course we'll be back. Oh! The JAM? It's good....
Read moreThis place is amazing! First of all the atmosphere is so cute it's very inviting and cozy. It is a fast casual dining experience where you order and pay and then wait to get your food at your table and they will deliver it to you. This location has fantastic staff, we spoke to the sweetest cashier he was a young gentleman with a huge smile who laughed with us and put up with my parents craziness as we ordered, I spoke with him a few times and he was so friendly and pleasant. Then there was a woman who came out to our table a few times if I had to guess I would say she was probably a manager, she went ABOVE AND BEYOND she brought out samples for us of their vegetable gravy, and chatted with us about where we were from etc. She was unbelievably kind and sweet. There was another woman we interacted with who was a tall thin lady who was also very nice, she brought some of our food out and even gave us 2 complimentary cinnamon biscuits. Lastly the district manager came over to our table and I can see why she holds such a high position, she was incredibly sweet and kind and so different from the usual "stiff" upper management you encounter. She chatted with us and made pleasant banter with us while we ate, I would definitely say that she is probably the reason the staff was so unbelievably sweet. I could go on and on about the staff but that wasn't even the best part! The food was incredible. The sausage gravy was one of the best I've had, and we make it at home all the time and it was just as good as homemade! It did have alittle spice to it so definitely good to know that if you don't like a little heat, we also tried the breakfast potatoes and they tasted fresh cut and fried! We ate the bacon waffle with the chicken tenders and wow, I don't even know which was the best item in that dish the chicken was hand breaded and so crispy, the waffle was packed full of flavor and perfectly crunchy, and the maple syrup was the BEST. We bought some on the way out it was so good! We also tried the cinnamon biscuits with icing, which are worth every calorie.. they aren't like a cinnamon roll or a biscuit more of a combo of the two together, soft, flavorful and drenched in icing... we also had the buffalo chicken biscuit and that was our least favorite only because it was VERY spicy. I think they used Louisiana hot sauce as the buffalo with zero butter to cool it down. We also tried the fresh squeezed OJ. DELICIOUS.. and the fried green tomatoes! I would love to know their breading recipe because those were some of the best ones I've had at a restaurant! Overall id give this restaurant ten stars if I could! We will definitely be back for lunch or breakfast next time we are...
Read moreJanuary 2023- it was a very pleasant experience this time and I was very happy. Arrived around noon on a Sunday. The food was tasty and the staff was friendly. I think new manager… manager was walking around checking on everyone. It was clean and quiet in there today. Very happy with the visit earning them another star!
June 2022- the last two times I’ve been here I’ve said “I want to remember to NOT come back here again”. I think it took me a second time of mistakes to learn my lesson. I get a veryyyyy simple dish- the three layer cake with mushroom gravy and never fails they mess up the gravy part. I have to ask them to remake it and then they forgot about following up with the cook to make it then 15-20 minutes goes by and I have to go up and remind them I asked and then they finally yell at the cook again and then I wait even longer. By that time my partner is done eating and I’m over waiting. I think there’s a lack in communication, guidance, follow up and management. There needs to be an adult leading and checking up on customers. It just seems like chaos. Someone needs to bring the calm to this place among all the teenagers working.
February 2022- things are looking a lot cleaner! Great job! Staff was in great mood today even when it was super busy. Helps when the owner/manager is out on the floor checking up on everyone. Keep up the great work y’all ✨
December 2021 update: the cleanliness has dropped in this place. When placing my order I can see into the messy kitchen. Things all over the floor. Also the trash/ dirty dish area is messy. It’s very off putting. Hoping they can step it up.
New to the Brandon area! Love this place :) it’s so delicious and they offer a vegetarian option in the biscuits and gravy- love that! LITERALLY the best fresh squeezed orange juice- worth every penny. Great coffee too. Lots of items on the menu and everything I tried was so tasty. The place is clean and organized. The staff was super friendly and employees checked on us multiple times while eating to make sure all is well. So happy they are now in Brandon. They are located off Bloomingdale and John Moore. They took over the old Mattress One store on the end. 127 w...
