Do not waste your money. My first visit is my last visit. These folks need to go visit a good Chinese restaurant and learn how to cook again. Ordered Singapore Mei Fun that barely had any curry in it. The dish looked almost white. Barely yellow. Very bland but the portion was substantial. Not even spicy. Fried meat won-tons were terrible. Over cooked, very dark brown, chewy, dry, barely edible with the red sauce. Spring rolls were crispy on the outside and mushy on the inside. Extremely bland with hardly any flavor. This is clearly a restaurant that will be out of business soon. They are drastically cutting corners on their food. First impressions are what really count. One of the highest ratings for Chinese food in the neighborhood. That's why I went. Wasted nearly $20 of my hard earned money. I generally don't write bade reviews but this food was so bad it just had to be done. These other reviewers need to rethink what they written. I only gave it two stars because the place looked reasonably clean. Clearly these folks are not proud of the food they serve. Such a disgrace. I always look forward to Chinese take-out but never again from this establishment....
Read moreExtremely confused if these are all fake reports or people in Ocala really have no clue about Chinese food. First you habe 2 girls working the front and 5-6 cooking. That is more than little hole in the wall restaurants in NY who spit out way better quality, cheaper, and no wait. When they tell you 15 minutes till pickup and you still wait 15-20 minutes there is a huge problem, specially with 5-6 cooks on the line. The menu is soo 1984 I honestly don't understand how you would keep a straight face while charging way over median prices. The quality is salty mush over coked nonsense, you guys really need to take a road trip to NYC and see how 3 people can put out way better foor 24/7 at a better price. Will be trying the multitude of other joints before I move back to...
Read moreWent to China Star at Canopy Oaks tonight to order dinner. The place was packed with ppl ordering and picking up. Kudos to The China Star team for their hard work. The team was running around like crazy, cooks in the back were frying the fried rice fresh, making sure orders were fulfilled and taking orders over the phone, no call went unanswered. The person taking orders on the phone was speaking to someone and the customer must have been in a dead zone but he waited a good minute until they got back on the phone. WOW. Food is very good. Got pepper steak hunan and curry chicken egg drop and wonton. Wait was 25 min but given the circumstances was worth it, I went...
