Interesting, 5 out of 7 reviews since they moved are 1 star reviews. Jenny is a disrespectful manager. Very disappointed. Since they moved locations they jacked the prices up on everything. The plato vallarta was 11.99 last week and now is 15.99 which is roughly 25% more. And, they had a sign for the special, buy 2 for 1 house margaritas. We ordered 2 med house margaritas with our food and were charged full price for both. The med house margaritas were 7.50 and are now 9.50. They told us the special is only for small house margaritas after we got our bill, which is not what it said on the board. I asked to speak to a manager and they sent Jenny to talk with me, she did not appear to be a manager and had the same shirt as the other very young hostess at the front, that she was standing next to. As i tried calmly explaining why i was upset, she kept looking at the front door and the people coming in and out and could not keep eye contact with me, which was very rude. I showed her the board with the specials and she said she was sorry and "next time" it would say 2 for 1 for "small" margaritas. I then told her the new menu didn't even have prices for the house margaritas and she said they would eventually fix that as well. I told her, me and my guest have been coming every thursday for the last year and we won't be coming back "next time". I explained the specials listed were false advertisement and she said nothing and didn't offer a discount on my meal or a coupon or anything. I've worked in the food industry for several years and this is not how you handle dissatisfied customers as a manager. UPDATE... I just called after posting the review above and asked to speak to a different manager besides Jenny. They put me on hold and suprize suprize, Jenny answered the phone. I told her i would like to speak with a different manager and she told me it was very busy and to call back later. I told her, I left a review on google about my bad experience with her and would call later to speak with someone else and she hung the phone up in my face. This is not how you should handle business as a manager, especially in the food industry. I will try to contact someone else later and will report an update on how...

My family and I just started coming here, and it’s a beautiful place with a great atmosphere and great food. However, today they ruined it for me, and I will no longer recommend this place to anyone, especially military families.

The server took a very long time to come back to our table so we could order. Yes, it was busy, but she walked by our table multiple times and didn’t seem to notice that we hadn’t ordered yet, except for my child.

Now, let me get to the part that made me decide this was my last visit. On a night when they had social media people walking around asking if they could take pictures to promote the restaurant as a family-friendly place, I was about to leave a positive review—until I got the bill.

My husband showed his military ID, and the bill came to almost $100. The 10% discount was only $2.20. We’ve been here before, and the 10% discount was taken off the entire bill. Now, it’s only taken off the individual meal of the person who shows their ID. I guess if I had shown my ID as well, I would have gotten 10% off my meal too, and I did show my ID after the fact.

The biggest issue is that if I were to call and place an order for my family and pick it up in person, the military discount would apply to the entire bill. They wouldn’t know who the food was for because they’d only see my ID. So, I’d get 10% off. But when dining in, sitting with my family, the discount only applies to the person who shows their ID. No one would know this unless the server explains it, and they didn’t mention it at all. You have to be paying close attention to your bill, which not everyone does.

This is especially insulting to the men and women who serve and their families. It’s disappointing to see a family restaurant treat military...

Food is nasty. We are from out of state & are here temporarily living. We wanted to try a night out and we heard they had music & 2 for 1 margaritas so we said sure why not. First let me say their margaritas are very sweet. The mix was so sweet it hurt my stomach I didn't even finish my 2nd one. The food came out so incredibly fast but it was on the colder side. I feel as if they just grabbed a mistake plate and gave to me. I got enchiladas and taco combo plate. Nothing had flavor. The rice was nasty, the beans were cold with just a slab of cheese on top & idk was up with the taco. The enchilada was ok but i make better food at home. My husband got a different combo plate with a chili relleno and a burrito plate. I swear this so called wet burrito was like a ground beef burrito from taco bell and they just threw some red sauce on it. Idk what kind of mexican food this is. Actually, taco bells is probably better to be honest. He didn't even eat it. My 2 kids got soft tacos but the tortillas weren't even cooked. Just like warmed in the microwave. The beans and rice same deal. Then the music was just 2 guys singing and playing their instruments. They were pretty cool guys but when I go to a Mexican restaurant this is not what I am expecting. The only good thing about this place is the workers. They are nice but all the waiters & waitresses were just standing around after they gave us our food. They looked so bored. I DO NOT recommend this place. Food is NASTY & environment is nothing but a bunch of older retired white people drunk and half way dancing in...

The service after the reopening was top notch. I mean TOP notch. Polite, attentive and friendly. General food quality has risen with the cosmetic upgrades (along with prices) but it's a price worth paying. It's still largely americanized Mexican cuisine but a few dishes stand out as relatively authentic, comparatively. Environment also saw a large upgrade as did their order taking systems and general organization. Top shelf margarita was not spared any expense and tasted like fine tequila over sweetener. Awesome. I ordered a to-go fajita to test portions and they delivered. I insist you try the carnitas. Frankly I was baiting them for failure on some aspects. Before I could even conceive my next idea they surpassed my expectations as if they read my bloody mind. If you didn't like the original Vallarta, I implore you to try again. It's not perfect but it's a whole lot better. That extra money you pay is worth it and yes, collectively for the Pensacola area they deserve a five star rating. Only critique is the booth table my family was seated as was a little to small for how much food we were given. Truly a first world complaint, I know. Give em' a retry if you've been to the old joint. You won't regret it!

On my recent trip to Pensacola, I had one mission: taste the best of what the local food scene had to offer. I landed at Vallarta Mexican Grill, and from the moment I saw the menu, I knew I was in for a treat—it’s stacked with flavorful plates to satisfy any craving. I went bold and picked the Camarones a la Diabla—shrimp drenched in a fiery red sauce with yellow rice, vibrant mixed veggies, and sides that brought the whole dish together. One bite in, and I knew this wasn’t just Dinner... it was a culinary event. Spicy, savory, and absolutely addictive. Honestly, you could eat it with your fingers and not regret a thing. The flavors, the presentation, even the cool vibes of the place—all on point. If you're in Pensacola and want something that hits hard in the taste department, Vallarta Mexican Grill is where it's at.

Eat here once a week. Ordered tacos at 2:30 PM. Made it to the restaurant at 2:50 PM. Stood at the bar for 10 minutes waiting for someone who works there to show up. Walked back up to the front and they had to go find someone. Make it home to insanely soggy tacos. I couldn’t pick a single one up. It was a mushy taco salad. I called about it and they said that’s how they are supposed to be if they are to go and how long I took to pick them up. They said they will be soggy because the meat is wet. Weird because I order these all the time and have literally never had this problem. Paid $60 for terrible tacos and excuses. He said that if I come back up there for a replacement they will be the same. There was also a hair in my husbands Al pastor tacos. Won’t eat here again.
