Shrimp Basket — Restaurant in Ensley

Very disappointed in this restaurant. We went last Tuesday for the oysters and other food. When we were seated. There were only 3 other patrons in the building. My husband ordered a dozen of oysters and grouper fingers, to which was told they were out. As we sat there. Several other people came in ordered oysters, (we had been there at least 5 minutes before others came in. We got there before 5), they received their oysters before ours and I had already put my food order in. 'Popcorn shrimp', as we sat and watched 4 other people get their oysters, our waiter brought out another tables food on a tray. I said to my husband, I hope that's not my meal with that order. Low and behold he handed me my shrimp basket. He went to walk away and I said, sir it is customery, to receive your appetizers before a meal..aka oysters, his reply was oh they are working on them. I said explain how others that came after us received theirs before ours. He walked away. Looking at my shrimp, I was like is this serious, they were the size of half my pinkie, and they served me 3 corn fritters with no hush puppies. Finally husband received his oysters, I told the young man about the corn fritters and he didn't get the point, he said wow you got lucky getting that many. I said you don't understand, no hush puppies 3 corn fritters. Then he said oh I'll go get you some, I said no thanks. A few weeks earlier we went to get oysters again. Came in around 6, well they were out of oysters, really... so we ordered other food and with my coleslaw it was if they poured a cup of seasoning in the batch. Couldn't eat it, brought it up to the waiter, and nothing. I just wanted them to let the Chef know on both dates of the mistakes, so they could correct them. On 08/23/2017 at 1230 pm. My family and I went to the Shrimp Basket on Nine Mile rd for lunch. Before we were seated we went to wash our hands. A female employee exited one of the restroom stalls and appeared to have been crying. She washed her hands and went back to work. As we sat down another waitress approached the table for out drink orders. Three other waitress were gathered around the kiosk. We over heard them speaking of a waitress there. They were saying some pretty harsh things. The side door opened and it was the waitress that was in the bathroom crying. She had a tub with dishes and was walking briskly past the other waitress, one of the them laughed the other said something derogatory to her. She stayed in the back for about five minutes. She came around to the kiosk entered a few things and then left the building in tears. Its not nice to bully. An unfortunately she was being bullied but not only by the waitresses the female manager was saying things as well. I wanted to speak to that young lady who was so upset and in tears. No one deserves to be treated like she was. So to Shrimp Basket if you loose an employee today blame your on duty manager and waitress that bullied her. My server was awesome waited over an hour for our food ordered 2 onion strings appetizer at 7 dollars each and wasn't even enough for one person then they were cold then we get our entrees the food was lukewarm and let's talk about the spoiled coleslaw the shrimp in it were grey and rotten I'm the only that ordered it I always get never again why was the manager waiting tables instead of helping the kitchen then after I tell my server about the rotten shrimp coleslaw I thought a manager would come apologize but no ended up throwing up all my lunch told my server and yet still no manager my bill was over 140. Dollars I was given a 4. Dollar discount so than I asked to speak with a manager she comes over and makes excuses different shrimp no that's not it rotten is rotten as I was paying and leaving yet another table tells her that the coleslaw is rotten she said we were out of mayo so we made it with milk yet another excuse the manager took my lunch off mind you I also threw up my half dozen oysters on a half shell it was not a good experience 😕😕 I worked in restaurants for many years someone didn't rotate the prep so we were getting old coleslaw even the purple cabbage had turned the slaw all purple someone really needs to do something about this I nor my family will ever visit shrimp basket again this is unexceptionable.
