After checking in at the Westgate Lake Resort we decided to try out the Smokehouse Grill since it was next to the resort and it was getting late. We were seated around 8:50 and our drink order was taken. After deciding upon what to eat I checked my email and such on my phone until our waitress returned and made the comment "would you like me to give you my number so you can text me the order?" Not sure if she meant it to be funny but it came off as rude and inappropriate. Once our food was brought out they gave me the wrong burger. I had ordered a burger with Swiss cheese and mushroom and was brought one with bacon and BBQ sauce. The waitress returned to check up on us and I told her that I was brought the wrong burger to which she replied "what was it supposed to be?" I told her and was eventually brought the right plate. Half way through eating I noticed our waitress head towards the kitchen with her purse over her shoulder and watched as she clocked out for the night. We sat there around 15 minutes until I had to ask someone for our check. We proceeded to sit there 10 more minutes and asked two other people until the manager came to our table and gave us our check, not even apologizing or asking us what had happened. Such a shame the service sucked because the burger was pretty decent and it would have been a nice place to grab breakfast. After receiving service like that I will never be returning to the Westgate Smokehouse Grill and would not recommend...
Read moreAVOID AVOID AVOID. Do not be lured in by ‘DISCOUNTED’ tickets at the Outlet pop-up desks. Half price tickets sound good don’t they? What’s the catch, I asked? A 90 min tour of Wesgate plus a free breakfast.. seems too good to be true, but hey, I’ll give it a shot! I was right, too good to be true!! After getting a taxi to the hotel, asking 4 different reception desks where to meet for this deal, I eventually was ‘welcomed’ to take a seat and wait for the tour to begin. 3 different members of staff reviewed my form and not one of them told me there was a minimum age? However, I was told 25 was the min age for UK to be approved for the deal when visiting the ticket desk at the outlet. Unfortunately for me, the manager decided it was min 30yrs (even though there was nothing highlighting the age restriction). A terrible experience, it seems they make the criteria up when it suits them. After having strong words with the incompetent manager, being extremely disappointed and frustrated with the time I wasted, I took my deposit and left. A complete waste of time, I’d give it zero stars if possible. I’ll now buy official tickets as planned and enjoy the theme parks whilst laughing at my...
Read moreMy wife and I had a few meals here and were left unimpressed. During our first visit we had a server who mumbled, the second visit we had 3 servers, and this morning was the worst. Our server, Sandi, said a total of 6 words to us, was completely unprofessional, and gave us attitude every time we asked her something. Simply put, Sandi made us feel bad for being there. The place was pretty well empty so she couldn't have been upset because of a full house. My wife went up to the omelette station and had to get the cooks attention as he was too busy playing a game on his phone. The food was less than decent and we found hair in our fruit. I've always watched shows like 'Kitchen Nightmares' and thought that places like that couldn't exist. It seemed ridiculous to me that it was possible until I went to the smokehouse. It's obvious to me that the smokehouse isn't trying to be a 5 star restaurant, but they should at least try to provide a consistent level of customer service and have some higher standards. On a positive note, our hostess was very friendly and should...
