Hey friends. Back with another review, today's I'm reviewing Sunshine Pies. Just moved into the area. My family and I were looking for a local business to support. Passed the location off South Miller Rd. Read some reviews decided to give this spot a chance. Pizza in Florida is really tough because the water used to make the dough has a lot chemicals. I'm originally from the Northeast and a huge fan of some really good spots in the New Haven area...If you've heard of Frank Peppes and Sally's, you know.... So, we ordered two large one topping pies, $40.60. Hmmmm this better be worth it...Alright, let's talk.... Was it worth it? 100% yes. I know good pizza. This was good f-ing pizza. First, the sauce had great flavor. Real tomato, layered evenly over the entire pie with a slight bite at the end. The mozzarella was fresh. Layered evenly and the pepperoni was thin and cooked with a lil char at the end. The pie had a lil grease, a true pie needs grease. If you don't like a lil fat, sorry this place ain't for you and you have no business eating pizza. Lol the second pie was a bacon pie. Same tender crust with a slight char. Cooked very well. Not over cooked at all. The bacon was crisped and chopped not layered like other places. Truly a good pie. This spot is Veteran owed, even more important. I've been looking for good pizza for a while since I moved south... I've been all over the state of Florida. If you wanna try something fresh, value for your money and support small business, try this hole in the wall spot. If you think I'm lying, look at the pictures, they don't.. I can't wait to have leftovers for lunch lol Until next time, enjoy what...
Read moreThe chicken wings. The chicken wings that I ordered from here were said to be delicious ! That's how I gave a one-star rating. But this is a pizza place. I ordered two sets of wings, and two large pizzas. One was the white and one was just pepperoni. Now I dearly love pizza ! And the pepperoni one was mine. It was overcooked -- and under sauced. It had little flavor to me because it was under sauced. It actually looked not like an oven baked pizza -- which has a tan to golden crust with bits of char here and there because of the hot oven -- mine was overcooked like it had been reheated -- so much so that the crust looked like a whole wheat crust. Totally brown. The bottom was totally brown and not attractive to look at. Overcooked or over reheated don't know which. I ate two pieces and stopped and usually I have at least four pieces because like -- I said I love pizza ! My daughter had the white pizza and did not say that it was exceptional either. We were very disappointed in the pizza aspect of "Sunshine Pie" !! We tried it because of the ratings. Like I said the chicken wings were well received and well liked --- But as for the pizza ????? I will definitely return only to "Gasparilla's Pizza * down the street. Now that (Gasparilla's) is yummy pizza !!! All of them - The white is especially yummy as well & Yummy salad, yummy grinders and yummy...
Read moreWe have had absolutely HORRIBLE experiences with Rosati's. Numerous times. Westshore doesn't always have perfect food, but it's never bad. Westshore has always been respectful and has always "done the right thing" in regards to correcting order issues. Perfect example, tonight WESTSHORE delivered a salad to us 15 minutes after our original order was delivered. A different driver brought the salad to us, and apologized numerous times for it being forgotten. We didn't even realize we hadn't received the salad! They could have easily done nothing (like Rosati's) and hope that no one calls to complain. They could have easily called us and informed us of the issues and offer a credit (like Rosati's, but then I never got my money back and when I called a few days later to inquire no one had any clue what I was talking about). Westshore has always been upfront and accurate with expected delivery times. It took them an hour tonight to deliver our food but we weren't upset because the young lady on the phone told us politely about the delayed delivery times. My point, a business doesn't have to run flawlessly to keep a customer. It's all about how the business handles the mistakes and how the business is proactive in regards to potential customer issues. We will continue to order from Westshore. Rosati's could learn a thing or two from the...
