Very disappointed in food and service. On the walk into the restaurant the aroma teased my tastebuds. After being seated on the outside patio I was hungry from the smell. I ordered a coke and my husband ordered a Dr. Pepper. Please note these come in aluminum cans. Neither one of us drink from aluminum cans. Since they were open we didn't send the back but, ordered water to drink as to not drink from aluminum. We each ordered combo fajitas. When the food came there was only one order. When my husband questioned where the rest was the waiter had quite the attitude and snapped I'll bring another. He placed the first order on the table and walked off. A while later he returned with another order of fajitas 1/2 the size of the one served to my husband and all vegetables were raw. By the time the 2nd order was brought my husbands food was cold. When the manager Myrna came by the table my husband explained to her that all my vegetables were raw and his food was now cold. She began laughing. I'm not sure what she thought was so funny but, neither my husband nor myself found any humor in it. She stated she would talk to the kitchen manager and be right back. Never saw her again. The manager MYRNA was very unprofessional and rude, our waiter was rude. The beef from the fajitas was delicious all 4 small pieces on my plate to my husbands large 6 pieces. The small amount of chicken on mine was dry and when my husband tasted it he said it tasted nothing like his. But, the worst part of all was the completely raw vegetables on my plate. Who wants the taste of a raw onion to overwhelm everything else in the meal??? This location is horrible. The Southlake location has always been great but, this one should be closed down. At the very least the so called manager MYRNA should be retrained. We won't be returning to this location ever. So be warned if you go to this location because it could happen to you too.
Update... since our meal here we have both been extremely ill. And yes, it was the food here most likely the food from my plate that looked more like they took scraps from the garbage and served them with raw vegetables. Very happy I took a pic of what they served to...
Read moreI am in pain sitting in the dentist office as I write this review. I ate at Anamia’s the first time about 2 or 3 months ago on a friend’s recommendation and the food was really good. Tacos a la Mexicana I think. I did however bite down on something very hard that caused quite a bit of pain in my tooth on my left upper. It went away so I ate there again about 3 weeks later. I again bit down on something very hard (I had ordered the same thing) and this time it really hurt and left my teeth very sensitive ever since. It didn’t feel Ike a piece of bone. It was small but hard as rock. Well, today I was eating lunch (somewhere else) and one of those sensitive teeth cracked in two. Whatever I bit down on at Anamia’s must have cracked my tooth and it just took a while for it to come completely apart.
Edit- I am losing the tooth. Sorry. I won’t be joining you for a margarita. I believe in giving a place a second chance but I just can’t give Anamia’s a third. Although the food was very good, and I understand this is an extremely rare occurrence, it is MY experience. I would’ve saved myself several hundred dollars by just going to Dairy Queen around the corner.
(Edit). I’m sure Anamia’s makes things fresh which is good but that someone didn’t thoroughly check the beans for rocks like they...
Read moreIf you're looking for quality Tex-Mex in North Texas, consider Anamia's! We are from South Texas originally, so we are VERY particular. But this place passed the test! Portions are good for the cost, which some may see as a little high, but the food is actually worth it. Which is hard to say these days! The same sentiment extends to their bar staff/drinks.
Staff is quick, polite, and hardworking. If they are busy, they may have less time to come around to the table regularly. But even if you don't think they are paying attention, they will routinely and silently materialize to refill drinks anyway.
The restaurant is a little tight-quartered but still comfortable. Those with small children or struggle with sensory issues should consider going during non-peak hours, which is possible. The noise level really builds when they are busy. That's the only reason I deducted a star, and it's 100% personal preference and NOT on the restaurant!
Meals are between $10-$20, and you can expect to spend around $10-$15 for alcoholic beverages. They also have a kids menu with both "safe" and Tex-Mex options, for...
