Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Flower Mound

I recently visited Tropical Smoothie Cafe to purchase an acai bowl. To my disappointment, the product was served completely frozen and impossible to eat immediately. In my experience, acai bowls are supposed to be creamy. When I called the cafe to address the issue, I was informed that this is their standard practice, as they serve the acai mixture frozen and customers are expected to wait for it to thaw. This was not communicated to me at the time of purchase, and my intention was to enjoy the bowl right away, not wait for it to defrost.

The person I spoke with on the phone was not very polite and mentioned that if I wanted a refund, I would need to go back to the restaurant to process it. Given the rude treatment I received, I decided it was not worth my time to return for a refund. I prefer to lose the money rather than have another unpleasant experience.

Me and my bf went to get some açaí bowls and smoothies and were met with smug and annoyed attitudes. The kids working there didn’t ask if I wanted a side with my sandwich ( which it comes with a side) and were frustrated that I asked for it at the window. After we didn’t get our smoothies we mentioned something to the kid in the window and he said “well yeah you have to wait”. If that already wasn’t unacceptable my açaí bowl was expired. And not by just a couple days or even a week…. It was expired for over a month and still was served to me! The label on the bowl said use by august 28!!! When I called the location the same kid who told us well you have to wait for your smoothies answered and after I said I’d like a refund or to remake it fresh he said “well I guess you can come get a new one if you want”.
