Really erratic dining experience.
One of my first few visits, and at 1 in the morning, I was one of only five people in the restaurant including my girlfriend, and we were getting takeout.
I ordered a "reuben" cheeseburger, the cheese was perfectly melted yet firm, provolone on a beautifully cooked patty with sauerkraut beneath, crunchy, fresh coleslaw, and nice crispy fries. Surprised and impressed with the presentation and quality, I kept this place in mind as one of the only few places in southeast delco, especially sharon hill, that made decent food. Now, I'm not so sure.
Again wanting cheap but good food (a rarity in delco's sea of uninspired restaurants where the only cuisine that comes to mind is "Italian" American or "American" Chinese) I swung by again with my girlfriend early evening, not wanting to make the dinner rush traffic into center city. I was completely underwhelmed when I ordered the same thing, it was like an entirely different meal. Soggy and disappointing, both the fries, burger, and the bun. Maybe a different chef due to the time of day?
Thought maybe I'd try AGAIN for some late night takeout with the same order a few months later when the nearby checkers was closed and the restaurant was fairly empty. My reuben burger just barely met the minimum of acceptable diner food. Plain, sparse patty, a scarce serving of sauerkraut (what, a whole teaspoon? How generous), and on top of that they forgot to include the separate coleslaw. Fries were only slightly crisp, as if maybe one of the cooks had never operated a deep fryer or had french fries that weren't from a drive through before? Made me wonder if that capavle cook I had all those months ago for that one, rare experience left for greener pastures. And I wouldn't blame him.
I do not think I will be returning unless it's late and I'm desperate, but at that point I might visit the Wendy's or.. shudder Wawa for food of the same quality.. Would give 2.5...
Read moreLast night hubby and I decided to grab a late night bite at the Folcroft Diner. We have become regulars in the past 2 months with little to no complaints. I'm a fan of the portion sizes and the menu selections. So disappointed though. So hubby and I were greeted and they sat us at our booth. We were never acknowledged again. Waitresses walked past us and it was as if we were completely invisible to them. When a group of policemen came in, the owner or manager grabbed menus and attended to the police. But by that time, hubby and I were sitting for an unusually long period Of time a half hour to be exact. We weren't even given cups of water. Hubby was ready to leave but I wanted to stay because I enjoy the scrapple but after a time even I was beginning to lose faith especially when we saw that the manager and another waitress went to grab drinks for this group of policemen that JUST walked in. So what were we, chopped liver? It's not as if we were seated tucked away in the back we were in a very obvious spot our menus were closed so that we can signal that we were ready to order but we were not considered a priority that night. There were at least four waitresses there last night but just the other night, things went smoothly and there was only one waitress and she managed several tables fine. We finally decided it's just get up and leave and my husband let the manager know that he was very unhappy with how we were being overlooked because the diner staff wanted to appease this group of police that came in 20 minutes after hubby and I were already seated patiently. This is not the type of place I would spend my money anymore. All Guest should be treated important. We ended up going to Wawa and enjoying brisket Hoagies. Not so sure if or when we will attend fulcroft Diner again. Too bad, good food means nothing without...
Read moreWe visited my Aunty and her friends in January 2025, she told us we must experience the everything about Folcroft's Diner. She was right! From the moment we parked and walked into the doors of Folcroft's, my heart sang. I felt like I was back in my grandma home. The warmth, receptive sounds of laughter, the aromas of home cooking with love. Every table in Folcroft's seated a family and every employee received treated their customers as family. The meals are ginormous servings, that we had to take away 😋. You must have their Eggs benedict; it comes in 3 various styles, the pancakes, omelette, Philly cheese steaks were the BOMB💥💥💥!!! They served REAL coffee and juice..aaaahhhh😊😊. Servers: Trained, happy, conversational, and always keeps your coffee mug (you heard me right - mugs not cups) topped up👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Atmosphere & Amenities Folcroft's is a prime investment. There brand is not only great food, it is family. The atmosphere that lives there was not created or superficial, it stems from love, passion and years of dedication to serve everyone at premium standards. The WC stations are pristine, one can eat of the floor, and it is my habit before eating to visit the WC area for a wash of hands, but also to inspect. 5-star pass✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️. They take the time to ensure the Diner is Home. The furniture and boothe seatings, no expense was spared W.O.W. Experience twice: The best part, we went back the next day and Ooooohhhhhh it was refreshing from entry to exit😊😋💥✨️👍🏻😊.
Thank you family...
