Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Glenolden

I ordered food from them a few years ago and remember it being very good. I stopped going because of a couple issues, once with ordering - placed a whole order and went to go pick it up only to be told that we never ordered it. Second the food just didn't seem that good anymore. Its been a while and I decided to try them again. I ordered the house special fried rice and I guess because it was close to closing they just threw a whole bunch of stuff together. It looks like someone cleaned their refrigerator of all the leftovers, Ive gotten the house special fried rice from a few places in the area and its usually shrimp, chicken and pork. This has huge chewy pieces of beef and stir fry size pieces of peppers, the shrimp has a very weird texture that I had to spit it out. They've been in the area for a long time maybe too long now. I will not be ordering...

My family ordered dinner from Hong Kong previously and it was good. However, our order yesterday was disgusting! We all had general tsos, it was BAD! We ordered it with plain fried rice, and were served pork fried rice instead. Everything tasted like it was both old and cooked in 5 day old oil. Since I wasn't feeling well, I also ordered some wonton soup. I figured I could at least eat that. I was WRONG! The wontons tasted very old, and sour even like bad meat, with rubbery noodles. I am done with Chinese food places officially, thanks to Hong Kong. They could have killed us with severe food poising had we all eaten our full order. We basically threw $40 in the trash. Food has always been good but the two little girls who answer the phone are rude! Theyll mess up you order and refuse to fix it. I had an arguement with the young girl because she got my order wrong and wouldnt send me a new and correct order .she told me if i wanted something i must give the delievery man my old food come to the store and get something else and i had to pay . i explained to her i had no way to get to her and i spoke to the "manager" who didnt speak much English and he hung up on me. Its going down hill .They even sold me old food before a few years back. So take your chances when ordering from them. Its sad to say i live on the same block as the original owners and wish...
