We made it to Vallartas restaurant in time for their lunch special. Our waitress, that did an awesome job, told us that they had a lunch special. The special was any two lunch entrees for $20. We asked for and received this special. My wife ordered the Vallarta’s Mexican steak bowl. I ordered a Burrito supreme and made it steak with onions and peppers. The waitress asked what sauce I wanted, brown, red, cheese. I choose the cheese sauce. Nothing else was said to us about extra charges. I did not see anything in writing on the menu about extra charges. I got my check and expected it to be about $30. 2 drinks, tax, and a $20 special price. The check came back over $40. They charged my wife a $1 extra for her steak. The drinks were $2.99 each my steak was $3.50. The onions and peppers were $1.25 each. And my cheese sauce was $2.25 extra. That comes to an extra total of$9.25 the meals received an $8 discount. So, the total came to be a $1.25 over the discount. A discount that totally disappeared after the addition of the extra charges that no one had told us about. The manager was not available to talk to us. But, a message was sent that these charges were because we had not stuck to the listed ingredients on the menu. But, on my wife’s Mexican Bowl, the menu actually said any meat. We have lived here for six years. We have been eating at Vallarta’s faithfully for the last four years. It was never this way in the past. They redecorated inside and opened the fancy Mexican Seafood restaurant next door. And their prices went up significantly. We are seniors. We can’t afford that kind of price gouging because of some new decorations and tables and chairs and so forth. I am very disturbed that this restaurant’s owners and or managers decided to stick it to their customers. Especially to locals that just want a decent place to eat. I can’t talk for my wife, but I can speak for us as a couple. We will not be coming back so that the manager can just stick it to us again.
Enjoy your newly redecorated restaurant. It’s going to be at least two seats emptier than you...
Read moreFor starters, my wife ordered a crown and Pepsi. That drink was not crown, it tasted like a house Bourbon. The waitress said it was crown and we were wrong and said she would "show us the bottle". We only drink crown. We know what it tastes like. That wasn't it chief. We sent it back and just went with a Pepsi since they either A-lied about what they poured or B-they pour bottom shelf liqueur in top shelf bottles to save money. After that, she brought out 2 chicken enchiladas for me. Only problem, I ordered quesadillas. When I told her they were supposed to be quesadillas, she said she repeated the order back to me (which I don't believe she did) and that I was again, wrong about what I ordered and the mistake was my fault. No offers to replace the incorrect drink. No offers to replace the food with the correct order. Just plainly WE were wrong about what we ordered. Literally the worst service I've ever had and the rudest waitress I've ever come across. I told her just leave it. I'm not arguing with someone that rude. After about 10 minutes, she came back and said the manager offered to get the quesadillas since I didn't eat the enchiladas. I don't know if that's true or not because a manager never came out. Regardless, I just had her take them off and gave her the enchiladas without a bite taken out. Only thing I ate were the beans, which were not good, but I paid for them because I ate them. At this point, me, my wife and my children were all in shock from the treatment and just plain embarrassed. Lastly, to top off this great experience, I not only left hungry but also thirsty since my tea wasn't refilled once. I'd recommend staying away. Find a different place to eat. I used to go to Vallarta's as a kid all the time. This isn't the same place anymore. Shame how terrible...
Read moreFirst let me say this, we have been a customer of this location for many years. We went here Saturday to celebrate my daughters birthday. Got there at about 5:12 PM and were seated. Received chips and salsa right away. Waited about 30+ minutes without a waiter coming to our table. My wife got angry and went and ask the lady that had seated us where our waiter was, she said she would find out. About 10 minutes later a guy walked over and asked what we wanted to drink, no apology about us having to wait. He took our drink order and returned with them in about 10 minutes. He then asked it we had decided on our order. He took our order without writing any thing down and left. Our order came about 10-15 minutes later. Order was messed up, my granddaughter order was chicken & cheese quesadilla, received it with soggy chicken and no cheese, daughters boyfriend ordered combo dinner, received somebody else dinner, my daughter ordered taco salad, got nothing. Waiter acted as if we received everything that we had ordered and started to leave. We told him of the problems and he was not apologetic at all. Daughter finally got it and meat was cold from sitting in the kitchen serving window. He found out we were there to celebrate my daughters birthday, didn’t offer to sing happy birthday as they usually do. Paid and getting ready to leave and manager strolls by. We explain what happen, didn’t say sorry or anything except he could change our ticket. Charge had all gone thru and we just wanted to get out of there. The owner wasn’t there as we know what looks like and didn’t see him. Won’t be going back there for a long time. I don’t like writing these type of reviews but felt I needed to. Oh, just to say they can’t blame it on not having enough workers,...
