2/18/22 1:45 PM. Today, I went in the Daphne Alabama store location to attempt to return merchandise. I had my receipt, ID, and the unopened merchandise/purchase from the store. I was informed by the cashier that since the purchase was almost $500 that the store did not keep that sort of cash in your cash registers. Additionally, I was informed that I would have to settle for a gift card or I would have to wait up to 30 days for a refund on my debit card. While I do understand that much cash is usually not held in a store, I do think it is unreasonable to force me to take A gift card and ultimately make me have to buy something from Harbor freight that I do not want or need. I expressed this to the store manager (I wish I would’ve gotten her name she was a lady but it does tag on her shirt said store manager). She became very irate and began telling me that either I could take the store credit or I could wait 30 days for a refund. I did tell her that this was not explain to me when I paid for the merchandise originally. She was extremely irate and began yelling at me that either I could take it or I could go somewhere else because she had other customers to deal with and could no longer deal with me. Once again I told her I was not going to accept A gift card for merchandise from her as this was forcing me to take merchandise that I did not want or need. She didn’t inform me that I could come back in a few days and exchange the gift card for cash. I told her that would be acceptable if she could show me something in writing so I would be protected. She then said hold on a minute got on the phone with some other manager at some other location unknown to me and proceeded to tell this manager what was going on. She kept telling the manager how I right I was and I was not irate. She then informed me that I could leave her store she would no longer help me. I am now being forced to drive almost 50 miles in one direction, waste my time, waste my gas, trying to get a refund which was promised to me by Harbor freight. Nowhere in the store or on a receipt is it written that you will not get a refund. It simply says bring the merchandise back and you will be refunded the money. It is unreasonable to expect someone to take a gift card for these items or at least settle for someone’s word ( that’s broken their word) without something in writing. I was yelled at and humiliated by this woman in front of other customers. I did call the district office and recommend to them that they review the security footage as they will see this managers actions live and in person on the video tape. I do not recommend doing business with...
Read moreJust like the candy store is to a child Harbor frought is to a man, any man will be able to find something he needs in this store, The only thing that keeps me from going more often is they are just a bunch of games and they are trying to force men to play their little coupons game and just like so many companies these days harbor frought has succumb to the lowest form of scum, they're all about advertising their products at the lowest price and you get to find out when you get to the counter and there's a long line of people who are all looking at you like dude hurry up so I can go get nowhere fast that's when they tell you that you have to have a coupon to get the price and they are just going to run themselves out of business and I have literally just about had it with these local companies, I've been trying to keep my money within my community but they're just making it too difficult to deal with the hassles their stupid little games and so called policies well I guess they are going to be just fine losing the $50,000 in sales over the last few years because I have been getting better deals from online retailers and I don't even have to risk my life in traffic or getting pulled over and harassed by baldwin countys over funded corrupt police force, I have on occasion over the past 20 years and tried to give my business to a local from tires to weedeaters and I will be honest with you I would stay home and look online like i have done for the past 20years you will pay much less and it will be brought to you, or if you prefer just go to the harbor frought and play their coupons game, hope that helps, be good...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst experience ever in a Harbor Freight store.
So I walked into the store to see what could have been mistaken for a Walmart due to the amount of customers versus the only two check-out lines open. After locating the two items that I came to purchase and then standing in line for what I would guess was approximately 20 minutes I approached the counter of the lady that told me to come down there just to be blocked by a person that had spent no time in line at all but was able to convince her to allow him to purchase his item before me even though I along with many other people had been standing in line for extended amounts of time.
I see and hear so many people saying that we need to help and support our local businesses during this terrible time but yet the same problems exist. Terrible if any customer service.
Well, Harbor Freight you can keep your tape measures and everything else that you have in stock. This is exactly why I buy most everything from Amazon. It comes straight to my door in 48 hours or less, there are absolutely no issues with dealing with incompetent people that seem to be confused by the simplest of tasks and if there is a problem with my purchase it is a no muss no fuss refund.
While this trip was going to be less than $50.00, I still bet it was much more than that little tube of what was likely butt cream that the guy that cut me off needed so bad. Great job Harbor Freight. You lost a regular customer to someone spending less than 20% of what...
