I absolutely love this Piggly Wiggly. It feels like that old timey grocery store I grew up shopping at with my parents. It's updated just enough to be current with the times but it has that local small business vibe even though it's a franchise. However, they do sell a lot of things from local businesses there. You don't have to fight crowds like you do at the Walmart up the road and the parking lot is never so full that you have to walk a long way. The alcohol selection is great so you can pick up something on your way to the beach and even get a growler jug full of beer. The bakery makes excellent turnovers and the deli features prepared ribs and pulled pork besides the usual rotisserie chicken. They have an extensive selection of wine and craft beer, too. There is probably no better place for southwestern specialties including a mind-boggling assortment of fresh peppers and hard-to-find items like chayote squash. ADD THAT to the 10% SALES TAX ALREADY in AL and your groceries are 20% MORE at check -out than listed.
