King's Chef — Restaurant in Fond du Lac

Horrible customer service and incorrect time of closure. Per Google, the sign on the door and the lady said close at 10:00 p.m. and all the lights were on and the open sign was lit up and flashing. We had walked in at 9:10 p.m. all the chairs were turned up on the tables. We waited near the counter for about few minutes before a lady's head popped from below the counter, as like if someone was hiding, stared at me and so then I asked if we can still order and eat inside. The person at the register said well it will take 20 minutes to get our food and then we'd only have 20 minutes to eat because they shut down at 9:40 pm. I stated well that's not what everything was pointing to. That it was 10:00 p.m. she said they needed time to clean up. That's not how a restaurant works, if it says they're open till 10:00 then they need to be. Clean up comes after that time.. so then I asked again,do we get to order or not and she repeated what she said about it taking 20 minutes to get her order and then 20 minutes to eat!! Wow. Horrible experience. Bad customer service. I do not recommend this place at all, based on that alone. We were from out of town and only looking for a good bite to eat... I wish I didn't have to give a star to do this review, because I'd give...

I generally am a fan of King Chef and I will go back there however the customer service that which was provided today when me and my mother visited, was not their usual routine. Unbeknownst if they were either short handed or what the case was, upon my attempts to order, I must have stood at the counter for 5 minutes waiting to see if someone was going to come and take our order. Upon having our order taken, the lady who assisted in this was on the phone the entire time. I was blatantly ignored by the first staff whom walked through as if I wasn’t there to place an order. The appetizer was brought out promptly but upon both main dishes, did the gal who was on the phone, state she would “be right back with the white rice” given 2 chef specials were ordered. Long story short, we never recieved the rice that was supposed to come with the meal. The attention to this was poor. King Chef serves some delicious Chinese food but their service which I expected to be much higher, was extremely poor. I hope the next time I go back, am I waited on with more respect...

Big portions but you pay for it but with very very little meat. I ordered a large shrimp lomein and a large house fried rice for my husband which is what he orders from every chinese restaurant, he was super hungry and started eating his rice and then stopped and i asked why because he had just told me he was really hungry and he said theres no meat in his house special rice so i dumped it out on my plate and took a picture and there was no meat at all. My lomein was good but had a little more meat but not much. Definitely Not worth the $25 for 2 meals. But I'm new to the area and have to find out for myself what places are going to be worthy. You win some and you lose some. Definitely will not be back and i hate leaving bad reviews but the look on my husbands face was sad. I lived in madison almost my whole life with good chinese eats and im in trouble if this place is the best chinese...
