The Stone Pizzeria & Pub — Restaurant in Fond du Lac

Really wanted to love this place, but with a very limited menu and the shrimp being marginally done at best, I'm just not sure this is somewhere we will be returning to. While I feel not having a menu posted is an issue, it's not a good reason to give them 1 star. I will admit that had we been able to see a menu, we probably wouldn't have wasted the visit. If you're going to manage a Facebook page, how difficult is it to take a picture, even if by chance the management could try to say they have a seasonal menu.

The service was adequate, but still left us thinking that there are many kinks that still need to be worked out. We had 2 different servers greet us, not knowing the other had stopped. It was difficult just to get the right menus. Before we were even half done eating, our primary server dropped off the bill without even first asking if we were interested in anything else. Made us feel like we were being pushed out the door.

The highlight was the Old Fashioned was among one of the better ones to be served in Fondy.

Really wanted to like this place and even tried to come back to try again. I brought my girlfriend in and first thing we hear when seated is the male host on the phone with his wife about how "she needs to get there now" with a fairly angry tone that is something he should've taken elsewhere out of earshot of customers. I had one drink brought to my table all night and being seated away from the bar while having food I don't think it was my responsibility to go up to the bar 2/3 times during my night and meal to get a new drink with 3/4 employees on the floor for a house with maybe 3 tables full and an older couple at the bar. On top of that I waited 15 minutes for a slice of damn cake that then I ended up telling the hosts wife I was on my way out and had her box it up. I love pizza and when I saw stone oven I had to investigate. The pizza I received had a delicious chewy crust with a thin, flexible middle. All pizza styles have merit, but sometimes you want a Za that resembles a neopolitan crust, and this was just what the Dr. ordered. The cheese was high quality as was the crust, though for a margharita I wouldn’t mind fresh basil. Listen, the pizza I received was good, and I’m glad this town has this option.
