They opened on Thursday at 11am, and I got there about 11:05am. They had the offer going for the first 100 customers, and when I got to the window they said they didn't have anymore of the offers left as they had already ran through them. I don't believe that 100 customers were cleared in 5 minutes, and it was pouring raining, AND when I got to the window, I asked the young lady "did the rain run everyone away" (because I was able to walk right up) and she said "yes, it's bad out"...so either they opened earlier than what they were saying or they simply lied about the offer. I love giving reviews, but I like them to be positive, but with me going out in the rain and getting there 5 minutes after opening time, I was a little upset. Now, the ice cream was delicious, but the way they tried to bring in customers wasn't the way to go, and makes me question the trust a little, because to say that the rain ran everyone away and then double back and say they're all gone, was a...
Read moreMy wife and I have been coming to Handel’s every week since they opened. Tonight, Tuesday, April 8th around 6 PM, we asked for 2 sugar cones to go with our 4 to go ice creams. They informed us they would need to charge us (which has never happened before). So we asked for one of the ice creams to be changed to a cone. The girls behind the counter changed two to cones. When we informed them that we only wanted one in a cone, they threw away the other cone and gave us the ice cream pictured. So, not only did they not want to accommodate us, they also wasted the product, and gave us half of an ice cream that was mostly melted. It’s worth noting that all 3 girls behind the counter “in agreement” were white and we are not. I suspect if we initially asked for the ice cream on a cone and a dish or lid to go, it’s likely they would not have tried to charge us for this. Very disappointing for an establishment we used to look forward to...
Read moreUnderwhelming. Flavors were not that exciting. The blackberry chocolate that I would really love is shown on a poster but not on the menu board and and seems to be unavailable. Having no indoor cool space to enjoy your ice cream treat is a downside for sure especially given the fact that the layout of the store seems non-efficient like eight different ice cream freezer sections that workers have to navigate around to get to the ice cream flavors instead of a simple single line of ice cream flavors which certainly would have allowed for seating space The two window arrangements is kind of strange. The worker said okay now that you've ordered stand in front of the other window and the worker kept switching windows for no logical reason overall glad to have an ice cream place nearby but sadly handles doesn't match the level of flavor and quality that a brewsters does. I will add that the portions are...
