Thereâs something about BJs Coffee Co in Forest Grove that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. From the moment you step inside, you feel it, soft natural light pouring in through large windows, warm tones, vintage dĂ©cor that doesnât feel forced, and an open layout that somehow makes the place feel both cozy and expansive. Itâs rare to find a coffee shop where it feels like time slows down. BJs has that effect. Theyâve kept part of their history intact too. Near the entrance, youâll spot the ownerâs very first grinding machine, a reminder that this is more than just a cafĂ©. Itâs a family legacy. They import their beans from farms in South America and grind them in house, which explains why their coffee has such depth and freshness. I ordered a pour over and could immediately tell it was handled with care, not just brewed out of habit. I also tried their grilled cheese sandwich for breakfast, something simple, but done so well it stood out. Crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and clearly made fresh, not pulled out of a box and reheated. They have other breakfast options too, but that grilled cheese had me planning a return trip. What I appreciated most was the atmosphere. Itâs not just for grab and go. This is a space built for lingering. There are books and board games stacked neatly, people reading or playing quietly, and tables spaced far enough apart that youâre not overhearing everyoneâs conversations. It reminded me of the kinds of coffee shops you find in small towns across Europe, unhurried, thoughtful, and real. Iâm usually someone who likes to explore different cafĂ©s, but BJs made me want to come back the next morning. If youâre in Forest Grove or even passing through this place is worth a stop. Not just for the coffee which is excellent but for the feeling it gives you when youâre there. Itâs a place where the little things...
Read moreAlright so I don't normally post reviews on anything, but I had an unfortunate interaction with one of the baristas here recently.. I am a big BJs supporter and absolutely love their coffee and the shops atmosphere. I normally receive ok service and am ok with having to wait because it is worth it for me. My family is a long time supporter of BJs. It was an 80 degree day and I had walked to the shop with a friend who had never been in before. We ordered our coffees and breakfast, the girl who took our order was very pleasant and professional. While waiting for our drinks and food I got up to get some water, the self serve jug was empty so I went up to the baristas counter who I believe is named Emma, to see if she could fill up my water cups. I ask "Hi can you fill up our water cups, your jug is empty," she looked at me, with an overwhelmed look and said something along the line of "we're a little busy right now, and the coffees I'm making are the priority so I'll have someone fill up the jug in just a moment." I resp with "ok whenever you have time." She said this so loudly that I'm sure the whole shop heard. I looked around and there were only 2 other people in the shop at the time. Was she putting priority on the coffee I had ordered over the water I, the same customer was asking for? Anyway it left me with a really uncomfortable feeling and didn't feel good being there anymore. Almost made me feel like I was asking for too much and wanted to push me around. We never got water, and my friend now has a really bad impression of this coffee shop. I am someone who has worked in customer service and that is not how you should treat customers, especially because it would have taken 30 secs to fill up...
Read moreIâd say the chai tea is pretty good. The customer service seems like hit and miss really. I have been there a few times and every time I go I always seem to see anger customers because the ladies there seem to not be able to communicate with each other properly or they just screw up drinks a lot , I guess. Iâve never had a problem with them personally but some of the staff is a little rude but they are usually young girls with Iâm guessing no work experience and have not learned how to be pleasant even when they donât want too. If youâre looking just to go in and grab a drink and leave or sit for a minute - this place is...
