Kodiak Coffee — Restaurant in Forest Lake

I am a huge advocate of local business, so I’ve waited a long time (several years) to give a review because I wanted them to have full benefit of the doubt.

Customer service has really improved since I first started trying them out 👏 I would rate the people on my last visit a 5/5. The atmosphere and coffee, not so much. I’m a serious coffee lover, and their espresso doesn’t hit the mark. It’s really light and acidic, rather than bold and smooth like espresso should be. The apple fritter is decent but tastes exactly like the fritters at Kwik Trip, except $4 more expensive. However I recently tried their cold press and was pleasantly surprised, very good!

All in all, I will continue to give it the occasional visit, but it hasn’t earned any...

We (family of 5) went in, one girl working. She did an amazing job helping all of the customers in house and at drive. My youngest ordered an Italian soda and did not like it, she took it back, did not charge us. She was calm and collected the whole time. I noticed that my son's hot chocolate and my latte was steamed in the same pitcher,I was nervous that his hot chocolate would be too hot. Hot chocolate not too hot, my latte was in the cooler end (I prefer 160°). I would have liked to have seen napkins and straws available instead of having to ask. Overall, love this place! I wanted to like this place, I really did, but what can I say but disappointed....I got an iced latte, it was made wrong first, then I got it, and it literally had three ice cubes in it. I tasted it, nothing. Almost no taste at all. They don't have straws, no Stevia. (IT'S A COFFEE SHOP!!) All the little smug posts, about this and that, no service type of stuff....With small businesses failing, they should rethink the little jabs at paying customers. I had my husband try the coffee, he was underwhelmed to say the least. I tossed it....
