The food was really good. Everyone enjoyed the food, no complaints. I recommend the salads! The kids meals were served in a dragon and hello kitty-like princess serving dish and they loved it! The kids absolutely loved it! Especially, when we were celebrating a birthday. They also provide her with a special birthday dessert, which she loved!
The restaurant was nicely decorated and warm ambiance. The fire place is a nice touch.
The margarita flight was great! The margaritas were tasty and strong. They had several flavors to choose from. Higher quality than many other places.
The service was terrible!!!! They provided brunch menus and dinner menus to the entire table. One person ordered off the brunch menu. Others order food off the regular or kids menus. Food was delivered and the waitress switched out the order for a breakfast burrito and said they were no longer serving brunch. Did she ask what he wanted, when she heard that they would not serve the breakfast burrito? No! She made the choice...switched out a breakfast burrito with a breakfast burger, without informing the customer. When the food arrived, he was served last and a few minutes later after we all had our food. The waitress said he could eat the burger free of charge and apologized. But, it was very strange and I have never seen anything like it in my life. Why would you not ask the customer to change the order to get food they wanted? You made the choice for the customer!!! Also, why the hard cut off time, after the customer made the order? Maybe next time, do not provide the brunch menus to the table, or block the order in the electronic device!
The waitress also placed a kids meal order to-go. She entered it incorrectly. A server came out with a black to-go box and we were all questioning it. This was after a few plated meals were provided to the table. We told him it was not our table, as we were dining in. A few minutes later, the kids meal was re-plated and served.
A different server/waitress gave a refill of chips and salsa to one end of the table. We asked for a refill of chips and salsa on the other side and got a snarky huff and puff of air in response from the server (not our waitress). She did not deliver anything.
Please note, this was around 2 pm and the restaurant was not very busy. There were plenty of staff standing around doing nothing.
I would probably do takeout again, as the food was really good. But, beware, the service was subpar at best. While it could have been a new waitress in training, I just cannot comprehend the mistakes that were made by the...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to try Zoukmaya because we had tried the restaurant that was previously there and had a bad experience. So when my wife told me a new Latin restaurant had taken its place, we were eager to give it a try.
Upon arriving, we could see how much had changed from the previous restaurant, and we were pleasantly surprised. As we went in through the back, we continued to notice how much had changed — it truly is a brand-new restaurant.
We were sat by a young lady, and Kristi was our server. She introduced herself and told us about all of the great signature cocktails they have, then took our drink order. When Kristi came back with our drinks, we ordered the Flamin’ Hot Corn, and it did not disappoint.
For our entrées, my wife ordered the Seafood Rice and I ordered the Salmon Salsa Verde. Both meals were very flavorful, the presentation was also very good, and the price for everything was right where it should be for great food, a great environment, and great service.
The decor was top-notch, the bathrooms were clean, and Stephanie and Anna — I think they were managers — were very friendly and helpful.
I also loved how the menu wasn’t busy like many restaurants. It was easy to find something to choose from without having to turn a million pages.
Thanks, Zoukmaya and staff!
Oh — I almost forgot: after eating dinner or lunch, you can walk out back and walk through the park or sit on a bench...
Read moreWas super excited to try this place out with my friend but was pretty disappointed. I called two hours before to ask what time we should get there to avoid a wait since they don’t take reservations, and was told any time before 7. Got there at 630, was told we would wait around 30 minutes. Didn’t get seated until 7:20, almost a hour after we first got there. Once we finally ordered, we waited ANOTHER hour to get our food. My friend ordered the torta, quesabirria and flouta combo(18), and I ordered the Alfredo pasta with crispy chicken(18, +5 for chicken). Once our food finally comes out, there is only one of each of the items in my friends combo and they are very small. Wasn’t Spanish rice, but green rice? Beans were oddly spicy. Quesabirria appeared burnt on bottom side. My Alfredo was mixed up in the kitchen and I was brought the spicy version. Had to send it back as it was not what I ordered and when the non spicy version came back it genuinely looked like buttered noodles. No sauce at all. Chicken was good, and there was a good amount of it as well as pasta. Super loud music and waitress was very very busy(not her fault). Overall, I feel like it could have been a better experience if it were less busy and we got the correct order, but prices were too high for the portions and atmosphere was...
