I'm all for supporting local businesses and will look for one to visit. That said I wish I'd have kept looking when I decided to try this place.
The service was HORRIBLE/SLOOOOW. We weren't even given menus but when a server finally decided to come by she wanted to take our orders. Perhaps everyone else is a regular customer and doesn't require a menu, but it was our first, and only, time dining here. They weren't busy but we weren't the only table. Once we received the menu I found it different. It's the first time I've encountered menus with a ring and slipcovers (I posted pics).
The food was so-so. The fried avocado was actually tasty & I ordered mine stuffed with beef. It stated it was covered in blanco queso but it was actually on the side. The rest of the food was forgettable. Even the kiddos agreed. We ordered extra tortillas. They are corn & not flour, in case you want to order; not specified in the description.
For the price it wasn't a big step up from Taco Bell. And the service was on par with the aforementioned restaurant. I ended up spending $80 for 2 adults & 3 kids meals w/out alcoholic beverages (actually idk if they serve alcohol, as I'm a teetotaler &...

Have no clue what Mexican food is Don’t mind sitting in a setting that can, at best, be described as patio furniture meets Goodwill Don’t mind a restaurant that is devoid of staff that are anything near what you would expect in an authentic Latin food environment (read between the lines) Are on hallucinogenics All of the above
For environment, see the photos. They aren’t hiding the fact that they care not one bit about being mistaken for a Greyhound bus station. This vibe appears to be working for their clientele, given the luxurious mullet and full back American flag tattoo of the gentleman across from us (as viewed over his tube top). Merica.
Second, the food. Wow. This place makes Taco Bell look like a five star, high end cantina. I’ve had better meals from 7-11. I’m not sure if this can even legally be called food.
Hands down, this is the worst Mexican restaurant I’ve ever eaten ate. Beyond the continued operation of this restaurant, I seriously worry about the individuals posting positive reviews of...
Read moreWould give 0 stars if I could. My husband and I moved to Forney 3 weeks ago and our first week in Forney we went to Madre’s per suggestion of one of our neighbors. We had great service and loved the food. My husband got a strawberry margarita that was $5. We then learned about the .99 cent margarita Wednesdays.
We came back the next week on a Wednesday and ordered all the same things. My husband got a strawberry margarita and I got a regular margarita for the .99 cent deal. First of all, they don’t have a drink menu and none of the drink prices are listed on the website. We get our bill and his strawberry margarita was TWELVE dollars. The lady at the front counter who took our payment was rude and said “oh well they must have just changed the prices” completely disconnecting herself from the restaurant and unwilling to take any amount of responsibility or try to resolve the issue. Will not be coming back and please stay away and go to Rio...
