My mother and I went today for lunch. I went inside ahead of my mother to use the ladies' room and to get a table. Our server was Diana and let me just say she lacks comprehension and people skills. Her attitude was horrible from the jump. She takes the drink order, comes back and takes the order for food. Ask what type of bread we would like and my mom replied, she'll have cornbread and that I would have a combination of cornbread and a roll. Our food came out, she brought 2 rolls and 1 corn muffin. My mom and I looked like okay, either she didn't hear us or she just didn't care. We wait for a minute to see if she would come back. Diana was nowhere in sight. We started eating the food anyway. I look across the room and there's Diana stuffing her face, just chatting away with other employees. There was no excuse me ladies, I need to get a bite to eat. Do you need anything before I take my break? (Common courtesy) Nothing! My mom get's the attention of a nice server and he brings her a corn muffin back and she gives the man a tip. I assume after her break is over, she's now ready to do her job. She comes over and ask if we needed anything. My food is almost gone at this point and I eat slow. My mom said, well I wanted cornbread, but the gentleman already got it for me. She kinda stormed off, comes back and hands my mom a muffin wrapped in a paper towel. At this point, my mom is over it! She doesn't dine out anyway, and we went there because we've had great service at the Dallas and Plano locations. Diana comes back over and notices my mom's food is barely touched and then she tries to be nice, asking if there was a problem. My mom said she didn't like the food, maybe it was just her and for Diana to bring the check. My mom wasn't happy with the service and I thought she was rude as hell. The food was okay. Energy is everything and well, her energy was very low vibrational. Maybe she was hangry, who knows? I might go to another location and that's a huge might, but thanks to Diana I won't go back to the...
Read morePeople who eat gluten free, stay away from the Forney location. Their menu states they have gluten free items but are not a gluten free facility so I assumed they would have a gluten free menu or some way of sharing with customers which items are truly gf. However this was not the case and to add to it the server was very unhelpful. She stated there was no gf menu and the only gf items she was aware they had was gf toast. I asked her if she could get someone else who would know like a manager or cook. I also specifically asked about one of the items which was baked chicken. I was curious as to how the baked chicken was prepared. She said it was covered in spices and baked in the oven. As anyone eating gf knows, spice rubs are not always gf. So I was wondering if someone else could give me more clarity to know whether or not the baked chicken was truly ok to eat. She left clearly annoyed by my question and came back with no additional person or help and stated that the species were just regular spices and none of them had wheat in them that she knew of. While I appreciated her sharing her knowledge I clarified once again that just because she doesn't know and she thinks they are just spices I really needed that confirmation to be safe as gluten is in many things people don't realize. She responded well "I guess you can just eat toast and eggs". I ended up ordering a very basic baked potato and was very dissapointed as lots of menu items looked delicious and possibly safe but I had no way of knowing for sure and was not getting any help to figure that out. Some of the other locations may be better for the gluten free folks, but I would stay away from Forney if you want help in knowing what you can eat. I will clearly never...
Read moreWe've been here several times and it's the service that always leaves us disappointed. Looking around the restaurant we could see that the waitresses, for the most part, are not interacting with the customers. Our waitress rarely made eye contact, had no personality, just said the bare minimum... Pretty much ruined our meal, even though the food was ok. Was oblivious to any needs... For instance, my daughter ordered pancakes but was never given a knife to spread the butter (only a fork)... We asked for a knife but she didn't bring it and we had to ask a second time (no apology that she forgot). I definitely will opt for another place next time since this is the third or fourth time we've had a bad experience there. If you're looking for good service and good food, there are many other places in this area that are outstanding and many are even less expensive since they charge extra for chips or fries here. Order a cheeseburger and you get only a cheeseburger... Just a few miles down the road is happy days dinner in Crandall (always have had great service and food there) or in Forney I'd recommend Huddle House or Cristina's. Just for a sandwich and a coffee, Lathams bakery downtown is awesome - best service around(always smiling joyful service) and they offer some...
