Good first impression when we checked in was that they had freshly made chocolate chip cookies in the lounge that were delicious! We finished them off. :-) Unfortunately we didn't see any in the lounge after that until the day we left.
We stayed at this HIE for 5 nights. We had a first floor room (#123) next to fitness room and across from laundry but there was no outside noise that bothered us. The room was clean and in good shape. The only issue on the room condition was the curtain in the shower/tub needed the top screws to be re-anchored because both ends rotated down which caused the curtain to slide towards the middle a bit. Water then got on the floor because of the gaps. I did think it was a nice touch that they had the slow closing toilet seats so you could just start it down and let it go.
They did a good job cleaning our room but I don't think they vacuumed every day as a couple days I noticed crumbs by a chair that were still there after the cleaning.
I was surprised they didn't push the environmental side of things as many hotels do. In the bathroom we would hang a towel or two up on the door so it wouldn't have to be washed but they still took it and replaced it.
The pool was pretty good. The area didn't smell like chlorine and was adequate size. The jacuzzi was clean and hot water but I didn't like that it would only run for 15 minutes and it wouldn't start up for another 10 - 15 minutes.
The breakfast was pretty average but sufficed. Sausage gravy most days with biscuits, scrambled eggs, basic omelette and pancakes via their instant pancake maker (pretty cool) were the main offerings. They did have pretty good cinnamon rolls daily too. They did a good job of keeping the food stocked except on Sunday when there were a few more people eating but it took literally 30 minutes for the sausage and eggs to be replenished so a few people just gave up and left.
The employees were all friendly and helpful when we asked them for anything.
The hotel itself is easy to get to and is by several restaurants.
The room did not have a fridge and I didn't see a microwave in the dining area. We paid $10 (just one time - not nightly) for the fridge which I didn't think it was a big deal but it would have been nice to be included.
The internet connection was okay but it was functional enough for my son to play games and for me to get caught up on work emails so it was adequate.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel again. It is a bit far to drive for Estes Park trips, but if I wanted to stay in Fort Collins again, I would definitely book...
Read moreWe arrived a few minutes early and our room was ready, which was great. Our room was on the side of the hotel away from the major street and at the end of a hallway, so was pretty quiet. It was very clean and the bed was good. Overall, housekeeping was excellent!
Breakfast the first morning was sparse with no fruit or juice. We were assured that a delivery was coming and it would be fully stocked the next morning. But that delivery did not happen. The second morning had even fewer offerings. When we were there, omelets, sausage and oatmeal was available, as was dry cereal. But there was no milk, yogurt, juice, fruit, or any bread products (bread muffins, bagels, pastries). It was really poor. On another day the oatmeal was not ready at the beginning of the breakfast time. On days when the room was stocked, the offerings were what would be expected and adequate. The breakfast room was clean, and the attendants were observed wiping tables, etc.
The bathroom in our room was pretty good except for the slippery tub, which was a safety concern for us. The elevator floors and the area in front of the elevators had coffee spills that were sometimes left for hours. My husband mentioned that a large spill had been there for hours to a petite lady at the front desk, and her comment was, "It happens." And if you need to do laundry, you need to know that there is only one washer and one dryer.
The worst part of our stay was an unfortunate conversation with the general manager. That's all I will say about that, but that's the reason we won't stay here again. You might find this hotel...
Read moreI was able to stay at this property 3 separate stays over a 6 week period to go to Vet appointments at the CSU Flint Animal Cancer Center. All 3 stays, including this last one in late October, were brilliant!!!
The staff were very friendly and outgoing, with special thanks to the front desk and breakfast bar associates! Housekeeping was friendly and efficient, and the hotel property is in good condition and very well maintained.
Each of the 3 stays were in the very same room, which the dogs noticed and appreciated. The room was always clean and well designed with multiple recharging options from the bed to sofa to desk area and even in the bathroom. The room was quiet each of the 3 stays, food was always great in the morning, and the afternoon fresh baked cookies were a nice touch!
The location is perfect for traveling with dogs with many nice dog walking options through the local area. Each of the 3 stays got colder with the final one at the end of October during a Winter Storm, but was always able to get the dogs outside easily thanks to the extra wide stairway and multiple open spaces near the hotel.
The indoor swimming pool was nice with towels readily available and great for afternoon laps.
Anticipating another great stay when returning for the next Vet followup at CSU in...
