Being a long time vet of the Oregon wine industry (recently moved to Colorado for grad school), I was so excited to try this place as I’ve been missing the wine industry. The first time I had family in town, I took them here.
Unfortunately, our experience was less than pleasant. While our server was kind, our charcuterie board took more than an hour and fifteen minutes to make. We checked in multiple times, and there was no explanation for the delay. It was eventually thrown in to-go boxes, at our request, due to the extended timeline. Our bottle of wine cost over $100 (no problem, but it seems like for such a charge the service could have been better).
Our server graciously comped the charcuterie board (priced at $55), but I was still just so disappointed. I’d been so excited to come here! Especially as someone who worked in vineyards and tasting rooms for over five years, and was responsible for the purchasing and creation of charcuterie boards at a large Oregon winery, this is just a bad look. Hopefully just a one off and a bad night for the service staff, but still a disappointment. It wasn’t about the cost (although I appreciate our server comping the charcuterie board); I was hoping to have a great and memorable experience. It was memorable, but not for the...
Read moreI signed up for their March 28th passport event on February 11th for a friend and I, who only manage to get together a couple times a year. I called per the instructions on the website and was asked to text my info over, and they would get us added to the event list. I did so, including a line offering to pay prior to the event if I needed to. I got a notification that the person liked the text, and then I sent another text verifying the time, and got a verbal confirmation. So, imagine my surprise when we showed up for the event, after each driving an hour in rush hour traffic, to find out we were never signed up. After I showed the text confirmation, I was told there was nothing they could do for us but comp us for a later tasting. When I informed them we had traveled up for this and couldn't do a later date, all I got was, "All I can say is I'm sorry." As someone who used to run events for a winery, I was astounded. If it's the business's mistake, you fix it. I am so glad a place with such terrible customer service didn't get a dollar from me, and if you plan to attend an event here, I would recommend triple checking your...
Read moreStumbled upon Taste and Savor late in the evening when everything else was closed and we were wanting a light meal. The charcuterie board was so great and good quality foods on it. I was disappointed that there was nothing local when we have so many great, local cheese options. Its also unfortunate that when I asked about the cheeses the only information was what kind of cheese, not the producer or name so I can't go and buy that cheese on my own. One of the things that has made Ft. Collins a connected community and a resilient one in times of economic stress is that we are tapped into local offerings and support them, making us a strong, local economy. I also asked about and was surprised to find that there are no wine events and no monthly wine club or tasting events. This business seems to have some room to grow and outreach to do. I hope to see it become a supportive, community member and not just another business trying to make money. There are plenty of...
