Don’t walk, run! I had the pleasure of enjoying an exceptional meal at Aida last week. We worked our way through the menu trying as many different offerings as we could manage. I truly wish there was an option to try one of everything on the menu. The flavor combinations of every dish compliment each other gently as your palette deciphers what wizardry just happened in your mouth. The food is luscious and brings you bliss with each bite.
The specialty cocktails are very well thought out, we weren’t let down with any of them. Our favorite was the Violeta. It had the same gentle flavor combinations you’ll find in the food throughout each sip. The other exceptional cocktail was our mystery espresso after dinner drink. The manager, Hiram, insisted we try it after we spoke with him, and he was right!
The staff is very attentive and accommodating. Some of the staff is from their sister location in Coral Gables. For some of them their first language isn’t English, but they understood when there was a miscommunication and sought help immediately from a fellow employee. This was greatly appreciated and noted. If you have an issue communicating, be kind and have a bit of patience, it will be resolved quickly with a smile. Hiram, the manager, was incredibly kind and shared a bit about their story after we finished gushing over the meal we enjoyed. Their goals to offer some of the best/most flavorful and freshest food in Fort Lauderdale are right on point. Aida is a gem and is a must for anyone whose soul yearns for real food that’s made with passion.

Read morei give them two starts and not one because te decor is pretty good. this restaurant came highly recommended, but unfortunately, our experience was bad. The first thing that struck me was how expensive the menu was. I expected a higher price range given the reputation of the restaurant, but $20 for two tacos seems a lot. Anyway , i was already there and affordability is not a problem so we ordered some drinks.
what really ruined the evening for us was the mariachi band that was playing indoors inside this small restaurant. I understand that it's a cultural tradition, and it can add to the ambiance of a Mexican restaurant, but in this case, it was so loud that it was impossible to hold a conversation or even listen to them and enjoy. They were too close to the tables. No stage.
Before sitting ask if they have mariachis playing and if they do, run! I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Mexican dining experience. We left without ordering any food, so i can't tell you if the 2 tacos are 20...
