My Experience at Karma is quite a mix bag I enjoy the overall atmosphere the people that come to karma are great and it can be a great place to network. I initially felt the staff was very rude and didn’t want to be there. I expressed it to Ryan and I noticed improvement from all the staff except for Carson(blonde hair girl) which is honestly why I went to Ryan in the first place.
My first bad experience.
I purchased kratom that spilled on the table and I needed something to wipe it up as so it wouldn’t spread I tried trying to get Carson attention to let her know I needed to wipe it up and I was met with an attitude and she watched me struggle to find something to clean it up until someone pointed out that I needed help, which is crazy because she works there I also tried to explain that the drink spilled due to the bumps in the table that honestly wasn’t that visible and I asked if it could be re filled which I know now their policy (we won’t refill unless we feel like it or we like you) but she literally just dismissed my concerns with just that’s your problem.
I then spoke with Ryan about it which although I felt he completely dismissed what I was saying about the staff/Carson’s attitude and attempted to flip it on me like I was the problem I did notice a change in the other staffs behavior minus Carson. I moved past that and thought things were looking good until recently.
My second bad experience.
This time I was going back to get my second kratom drink and told Carson I would be closing the tab after this, she messes up my kratom drink that she asked me to repeat several times and she says to me hey instead of wasting kratom what if I add the flavor you asked to it something else for the inconvenience she then rings me up with the Order for the two cheez-Its and I pay and leave.
The next day I come back to order she approaches me hostile and says hey you didn’t pay for your tab last night and it shows here that I must get it now I state to her that I came to her before I left to cash out and I paid what she stated was my total she goes on to make it seems as if I didn’t pay she asked me to pay along with my order and I had no problems because hey it’s not that deep although I know she messed up. I came in today as I had a friend with me and I asked her to keep the tab open and she asking for my card saying the reason why is because I ran off without paying last time which was a lie! I comply but as I am cashing out I try to recount with Carson and told her I wasn’t mad earlier just wanted her to know that her recollections of events was incorrect.
She says I have to do that when you don’t pay your tab I explained to her that she is the only one that does that and I never skipped on paying my tab and like always she completely dismisses what I am saying and walks away right in the middle of our conversation. Me seeing these reviews here about her lets me know it’s not just me. I come here a lot for me to be treated like I skip out on paying my tab is wild especially when I know what actually happened! This is the reason for the 3 stars which honestly could be lower but there are elements I do like about karma mostly the atmosphere which is created by the customers...
Read moreI've been a regular at Karma for quite some time, but my recent experiences have left me frustrated and disheartened. The biggest issue with this place is Carolina, who is by far the most negative and unprofessional person I've ever dealt with in customer service. She has absolutely no idea how to interact with customers and clearly doesn't understand the basic principle that "the customer is always right." I’ve been dealing with Carolina’s poor attitude for a long time now, and after reaching my breaking point, I finally spoke up. In response, Carolina attempted to enlist her friend to try to smooth over the negative review I posted yesterday, a review I had every right to write based on my ongoing experiences. I've visited Karma many more times than most, and what I’m seeing behind the scenes is far from the welcoming atmosphere they should be offering. Furthermore, I think there has been some confusion about me and my nationality. As I’ve mentioned before, Carolina has shown a distinct and unpleasant bias for some reason towards people of Eastern European descent and now her friend specifically mentions in one of the reviews “I saw how they treated her I don’t want to name the country but we all know who they are !!” , particularly those to witness such assumptions being made, I’m just curious who are we? and I want to make it clear that just because she may have an issue with someone from a certain nation doesn’t mean that everyone from that country is the same. It’s completely inappropriate for her to put me — or anyone else — into this generalization, and I find it completely unacceptable. What hurts me the most is that I was the one who tried to give her the positive benefit of the doubt all this time, even when all others spoke badly about her customer service. I just want to clarify that I am a very kind and respectful person, with a great deal of patience and understanding for others. I genuinely value and respect people from all walks of life, regardless of their background, culture, or beliefs. My interactions with others are always rooted in kindness and empathy, and I strive to treat everyone with dignity and respect. Carolina and her friend has also made it their business to track how much I order and WHY IS THIS INFORMATION DOES NOT STAY BETWEEN THE CUSTOMER AND THE BUSINESS which is absolutely none of their concern AND SHOULD STAY WITH IN THE COMPANY. If I choose to sit at a table and not order more drinks, that’s my choice I need to finish the drink I got first. I’m not taking anyone else’s reserved seating. I’ve spent a minimum of $5,500 at this place, with 275 visits recorded on my Clover app (which I’ve attached as proof) and that is the maximum number that could be shown on the app. I’ve been loyal to Karma, but I don’t deserve to be treated like this. This business is loosing the customers just becouse of one weiter and I hope management will do something about it. It’s not just me, either. I know many others there who share the same feelings and they are from all over the world, and I hope they speak up. Karma has a lot more issues than I realized, and the root of it all seems to...
Read moreI first visited Karma Kava on the day they opened, and for the first two years, it was an incredible spot—great drinks, chill vibes, and solid customer service. Unfortunately, after moving back from Texas a few months ago, I was met with a completely different reality.
Declining Quality & Awful Experience First off, the tea has gone completely downhill—regular drinks taste burnt and downright unpleasant. I’ve been drinking kratom for over 10 years, so I know exactly what it’s supposed to taste like when made correctly. Now, it’s inconsistent, watered down, or scorched.
The music? Absolutely unbearable. Blasting at ridiculous levels to the point where you can’t even hear yourself think. This is supposed to be a relaxed environment, yet it feels like I’ve walked into a chaotic club.
Customer Service is a Nightmare I’ve had multiple issues with staff, and at this point, I’m just done.
Carson (the blonde girl) – I’ve never encountered a more bizarre and unwelcoming energy from someone in customer service. Her attitude gives off the impression that she’s doing you a favor just by taking your order, instead of, you know, doing her actual job. Requesting a simple adjustment (like adding a bit more puree) is met with sheer rudeness and eye-rolls. I’ve been a customer for years, yet I feel like I’m inconveniencing her every time I ask for something. Carolina – If her negativity wasn’t bad enough, she literally tried to guilt-trip customers into buying her daughter's pens while they’re just trying to order drinks. That is beyond unprofessional. At this point, I don’t feel welcome here anymore. I used to come in, order my drink, sit quietly with my laptop, and not bother anyone. But it seems like the staff has decided that treating long-time customers like an inconvenience is the new standard.
$31,873 Spent – And This is How You Treat Regulars? Since Karma Kava opened, I have spent over $31,873 here—at least $50 per day. I have also personally recommended at least five daily regulars who started coming because of me. Now, many of them have also stopped coming due to the awful service and the decline in quality.
This Place is Surviving Because It’s the Only Option—For Now Let’s be real—the only reason they’re getting away with this is because kratom drinkers don’t have many options nearby. If this were any other business, they’d be out of customers overnight. But guess what? Two new kava bars are about to open in the area, and when they do? Karma Kava will regret alienating their loyal customers.
Until something major changes—whether it's new staff, better drinks, or a complete attitude shift—I won’t be back.
Save your money and go somewhere that actually respects...
