3/11/2024-It’s been 20 years since I last visited The Parker. ( Due to moving out of State) I was excited to return to see Dave Mason ..(As a widow traveling alone I felt safe and comfortable) First of all I applaud management! 5 Stars for a warm and welcoming experience and atmosphere! From the ease of security to the attentive staff, amazing bartenders, knowledgeable volunteer ushers and managers- all set the tone for a memorable and exciting musical experience! The venue is absolutely breathtaking! A true throwback to classical concert halls but with all the modern conveniences! The renovations are on point! I upgraded my experience to “The Place to Be “ lounge! I highly recommend this upgrade no matter what the cost! Amazing!! The lovely Ladies that greet you and scan your ticket are informative and welcoming. A wrist band is placed on your wrist and you are able to enjoy the lounge for one hour before the performance and during intermission! The lounge is down 6 steps and has private restrooms. Relaxing colors and comfy seating sets the stage for a wonderful VIP experience! A small but delicious cold and hot buffet is available.. our choices were: individual shrimp cocktail, crudités, cheese and cracker display,Swedish meatballs, cheesy flatbread, couscous! A dessert buffet, coffee, a variety of cookies, the makings of s’mores.. including a delicious shortbread/chocolate scones! Then there is a full bar with our amazing bartender, Scott! He suggested an Amaretto sour! Let me try a small taste and if I didn’t like it he would make me a different drink! I loved it! I’ve never had one before but love amaretto! He was personable and very accommodating! Everything was delicious and the hot plates were constantly being refreshed! The young lady attending the buffet was also friendly, attentive and professional! Totally a great value for a very VIP experience! The lobby and foyers are beautiful and easy to navigate! Signage is clear! You know exactly where you need to enter the Theatre.. Seating is continuous, no break or center aisle. The seats are comfortable but very small. The acoustics are excellent and truly not a bad seat in the house. The foyer has a giant screen tv and great speakers so you won’t miss a minute if you have to leave to use the restroom. The entire experience was wonderful! (Dave Mason was amazing! His voice is on point! Unbelievable! Sounds like he did in the 70’s at The Lonestar Cafe in NYC! I’ve seen him over 60 times in 5 different States! since the 70’s! Truly my number one favorite of all time!) The ushers are friendly, professional and knowledgeable! If they are all volunteers you have trained them well! Congratulations and thank you for creating a spectacular venue with a 5 Star Experience! I look forward...

Upon entering we were greeted by some fine folks with ask me signs. Great idea btw. I'm not a theater kinda guy, but this place was really nice and extremely well maintained. The whole event was super smooth with police and all. First class service all the way and especially because of one employee, Mr. Ricardo Alonso. If I had a business I'd hire this man in a second. We unfortunately arrived late to the VIP meet and greet and were not able to take pics with the cast of the movie. So Mr. Alonso handed us some signed posters by the cast. I asked if it was possible he can hold those for us until the show was over and he was happy to do so for us. He informed us the movie was starting and we made our way to our seats. About 20 mins into the movie Mr. Alonso came over to us and asked us to wait outside the exit doors after the show so we could be accommodated to meet the cast. I was shocked as I thought oh well I was late and I missed it, but my man came through and hooked us up. After and during the intermission we saw Mr. Alonso all over the place doing a heck of a job aswell as all the other playhouse staff. We definitely had a class act experience and cannot wait to be back for another future show. Restrooms were super clean, concessions were also top notch. Parking was a piece of cake. Nothing but good things about our entire experience here. Ricardo Alonso should be commended for outstanding customer service. He is a true asset, industrious worker and a wonderful attitude to deal with the public. Bravo to the entire...
Read moreThis was the first time I attended an event at The Parker (formerly The Parker Playhouse) in Fort Lauderdale since its renovations and the Covid-19 pandemic hit. What a terrific job they did at bringing this grande dame into the 21st century! From the beautifully redesigned front entranceway and portico to the blessedly modern, well-appointed bathrooms, this is a theater to be proud of. No longer a shabby, half century relic crying out for repair, The Parker now boasts a blissfully cool air conditioning system that keeps its patrons comfortable from the moment one walks through the front door. Current health restrictions were adhered to upon entering the front lobby, with ample staff checking ticketholders for either proof of vaccination or a current negative Covid-19 test result, before allowing them to advance inside. Facemasks were required once inside the building. Helpful theater staff looked over & scanned each ticket prior to directing attendees to their seats. The Lillian S. Wells Hall has been modified to continental seating, meaning there are no aisles dividing the seats down the middle, only those at the far right or left of each row. Though awkward for someone entering or exiting their seat having to cross in front of already seated patrons, it's a relatively small inconvenience when looking at the big picture. They've also added a separate dining facility located inside the theater for people wishing to grab a bite prior to attending their event. All in all, The Parker is a welcome venue in Broward county, one to be cherished and enjoyed...
