China Star — Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale

I believed the reviews... don't do it to yourself. I was looking for a new American-chinese restaurant and I saw this one had super high ratings and hey, the prices were right in my cheat day budget.

Terrible. 1. The Krab Rangoon...lumpy gritty cream cheese no crab. 2. The honey garlic wings...the honey glaze liquid no garlic, I doubt there was even honey...the meat was okay. 3. The general tso "chicken" =flour and chicken fat maybe rolled into a ball and painted w/a mysterious cherry red sauce that had no flavor...it may have been sweet &sour instead of what I actually ordered. 4. The chicken lo mein... it just made me sad. It was DRY AF, I've never had noodles that dry. So I'll assume they were cooked this morning an left in a big bowl all day and night and they only scooped out what they needed. This lo mein was flavorless, lo mein felt and tasted like regular spaghetti noodles covered w/ browning. While I commend the generous heaping of lo mein, I see why I got such a large container. They were probably trying to get rid of it before the night was done. Here it goes:

The ONLY good thing about this meal were the French fries. What a waste of a cheat day! I ordered $30 worth of food. Their(chicken) Lo mein contains shredded carrots and what looked like wilted lettuce(definitely didn't look like cabbage). It was a mess.

I never had a problem here until tonight. I made a pickup order and part of this issue is my fault because I should’ve checked my food, but I always order here for some reason my boyfriend like this place me personally the rice is too dry! But anyway, the lady in the front took my order and I don’t know what the hell she heard me say but my order was all wrong! I ask for chicken fried rice they gave me pork and chicken also gave me extra stuff I never ordered. I called to explain that i had the wrong order in a nice way and the bald headed guy in the front had the worse attitude because I told him about my order being wrong just started talking over me saying how I can bring it back no apologies or anything. He just basically told me that’s what I ordered. If I ordered that you think I will be calling to complain idiot? They took no accountability I guess they don’t need their customers after all with this horrible customer service that I experienced.All the money I spent at this restaurant! They disrespectful as hell and the food not even that good to have those type of actions towards your customers. I got my money back and I will NEVER EVER EVER...

11.30.15 In town at a Marriott beach resort. Read the reviews and the Chins Star had the best reviews. It was a rainy Monday evening. Placed an order for delivery. They said 35 mins. After an hour and 15 mins still not here. And they charge a $2 delivery fee. Why am I paying that if they load up the car with numerous orders? Finally after 1.5 hours it arrives. And still fairly hot. Driver said he does what he is told and dont complain to him. Im not happy with the delivery fee but must say in fairness the food was worth the wait. The Hunan Beef was very tender and tasty. And the BBQ ribs were meaty and not dry. I would say big woop about the free egg rolls except egg rolls are no good without house made mustard which I always ask for and never get but the Chins Star had house mustard so the egg rolls were also tasty. So even though it was a long wait and pissed off about the $2 deliver fee I give four stars. Otherwise would have...
