The food is delicious!!! Customer service is beyond terrible!!! I guess it must be either they know all those customers giving them 5 stars ratings, or I have had very, very bad luck, 5 consecutive times?....
They get very, very busy and the process in place to handle that volume of customers, doesn't work. Every time I've been there, there is no management in house and the personnel taking orders seem overwhelmed. They are not rude, they just don't know how to cope with it.
There is an obvious lack of communication between the service counter and the kitchen, and probably the kitchen is in the same situation. However, the kitchen being the backbone of the business, they don't have the same customer service culture as the service counter. Also they think people don't notice because they are behind a closed doors?...
Personnel is very friendly with the regulars, - sometimes too friendly, because they get distracted by the talking and ignore the other customers. They are nice to other customers, if they aren't being ignored by the staff chatting among themselves or the regulars.
They are shy and even a little bit evasive if they realize that the customer doesn't speak Spanish. (I speak fluent Spanish)
I don't blame them, every business is what management...
Read moreThe food at Sunshine Bakery was great but the service was appalling! However, maybe someone should warn them that in America all types of races and nationalities visit establishments.
I am African-American and proud of it. All people should be proud of their culture. I appreciate every culture's contributions to our world and like to experience their food, music, art, and etc. I try to teach my daughter the same appreciation and respect for others that is why at her high school she joined the International Club. Well their club is participating in an International Fair and she is tasked with bringing some Cuban Patries. We visited Sunshine Bakery on Saturday February 10, 2018 to test out some of their pastries for purchase and boy was it a mistake.
Not because the products were bad but because of the disgusting way we were made to feel for being there! We were made painfully aware by both the staff and the clientele that we weren't welcome there. I found it so odd, disgusting, and distasteful that in such an explosive climate towards immigrants and immigration here in America, that they found it acceptable to make customers of a different background feel unwelcomed and isolated. Especially when we were only trying to embrace and patronize their...
Read moreLove the food . The Empanadas where great . They bake them which I like that best . The cafe con leche was great . I have not sampled the pastries as yet but I have to believe they are nothing short of excellent . I wish they had more of a resturante side going with some breakfast and lunch menus. They would really make an even bigger hit . The staff was great. I am definitely coming back again . This place is a gem . Cuban baking at it's best . I tried this place after a very nice woman was kind enough to bring me coffee and food while I was working. So come to find out she purchased my tasty goods at the Sunshine Bakery . I will of course be a regular . I need to take some great pictures of this place and post them . I am of the opinion that anything you consume here will be an enjoyable...
