I've been going to this establishment, for many years. I grew up in the neighborhood and know this place well. This past Saturday, the owner, was extremely impatient, ill-mannered and rude. This has not been the first time this man has been rude to myself, or to my sisters. I was ordering takeout breakfast for six. I repeated my order, to lovely lady working behind the counter. I overhear the owner, who was off to the side, making rude remarks. I kept hearing him repeat; "This order is taking too long!" When I finished placing my food order, He came over barking; "Did you finished ordering, move to the side!" No "Excuse me", "Please", or "Thank you." To not make a scene, I proceeded to move to the side. I had yet to place my coffee order. I was patiently waiting for the server to come back and complete my order. The owner kept on with his smart remarks. Telling a customer (who was standing behind me in line) "Some people don't understand the current situation. They can go across the street to Mcdonalds. I bet they will not be getting their food any faster. There's a line at Mcdonalds too." Keep in mind, I wasn't rushing my order, or being impatient with the service. I know it was a week after a hurricane, but the place was not busy. Beside my sister and I, there were only 3 other people ordering take-out. There was no long line. As a matter of fact. there were only 4 other customers seated & already eating their food. I have no idea why this man was being rude. Seriouslym this is starting to be a common thing at this place. I'm a repeat customer and I'm really considering taking my business elsewhere. At the plaza next door, there is a Cuban bakery called Sunshine Bakery. I have never had these type of issues there. Hopefully, this man will see this review and remember the meaning of customer service. If I do decide to return, hopefully he'd make things right. However, I wouldn't be surprise if he kicks me out instead. I'll keep...
Read moreI lived here for 20 years now and grew up around the corner from this place i and everyone love and still live 5 mins away been coming there for years , so for me to come here and give it a 1star it's very ashame. But it makes sense when theres a new owner who doesn't care for none of that.. stealing people's money with no shame, using the same prices and menus former owner had and when you go to pay they are all different prices.. went in today to pick up some food I order and picked from their website and saw their prices, when I got there and went to pay an item that said 7.50 on the website they were charging me 18 dollars for it and I tought that wasn't right, this lady who was very rude and dismissive as well as very unprofessional try to give me every excuse and lie saying she talked to me and told me the price and her employee told her it wasn't me, then she said oh the prices are not the same on the website and I said well that's not my fault they should fix that, so I decided not to take the item and her employee went to tell her and she came mad and said well dont take anything then so she refused service or fix the situation wich is false advertisement, so many things wrong with this place in the 5 mins I went there.. none of this would have happen with the people who own it before, I dont know if this lady was the owner of a manager but she is the worse managnent /owner ever.. watch out when you go to SANTA BARBARA they will steal your...
Read moreI've been coming here since I was a small boy. I've always loved the sandwiches here. 16 years later I can happily say the sandwiches still taste just as good as I remember them. Nothing else has changed either. The staff I met when I was young is still there, the original decorations are still up. It's like a wonderful little time capsule from a time almost forgotten. This place makes the best cuban sandwiches, coffee and ropa vieja this side of the state. Guaranteed. If you're looking for some authentic cuban sandwiches, I don't just reccomend, I implore you to check this place out. You won't...
