I remember coming here years ago when they first opened. I left a very positive review! Today I took my time to delete my previous review because of the last experience I had at this location. The picture I have added is extremely deceiving. I walked in about an hour before closing. I was asked to sit at the bar because I was alone, but asked for a table instead. The bartender was just talking to the four other people at the bar already. She came and got my order and you could tell she wasn’t really paying attention. I had to make modifications to make my meal vegan friendly. I was very specific in saying I needed to change the noodles in the Ramen. I know they have the V next some options on their menu but I wanted something else so I knew with these modifications , the meal would be fine for me to consume. I get my bill and I can see she made one modification on my appetizer and had nothing under my main dish. I had already eaten a third of it, but I realize it was almost closing time so before paying, I asked her if she made any modifications, and she very quickly said oh no, I’m sorry. She offered to speak to the manager and I said OK.. the check came back with a 10% discount! Honestly, I was super upset and just packed everything up and left. Of course I left her a tip because either way she is working but I am extremely upset about it. I pretty much came home and got sick from consuming the egg noodles I was so specific about. I have worked in the industry before and if I had ever done that to one of the customers, my manager would’ve taken that off the bill. I paid over $50 for an appetizer, one soda and an entrée. Imagine if this was a serious allergy?
Phat boy please do better! If you were in such a rush to close, maybe give the table to a server that is actually going to take their time to listen and get the order correct.
Ever since the expansion and the growth in the business, it appears to me that the customer service has been declining! Definitely not...

As a frequenter of Phat Boy Sushi, my culinary adventures there never fail to entertain my taste buds. Today's exploration led me to the Katsu Don - a breaded pork dish served over rice with a nuanced Asian-style BBQ sauce. Though it was satisfactory, it didn't quite captivate my palate as much as other dishes.
Next, I ventured with the JB Roll, which stood out as a delicious pick. However, the size of the sushi rolls here might not be for everyone. They tend to be on the smaller side, almost child-sized, but they compensate with their flavors.
In addition to the sushi, I also opted for the ever-reliable Gyoza and the rich, warm Tonkotsu Ramen, both of which hit the mark nicely. The packing was immaculate, each dish was thoughtfully packed with accompanying soy sauce, utensils, chopsticks, and napkins.
One of the standout features of Phat Boy Sushi is their unique pick-up system. For those fetching orders, there's a dedicated door to collect your food without having to step foot inside the restaurant, a testament to their attention to customer convenience.
I am rating Phat Boy Sushi a strong 4 stars. While they consistently serve quality food with excellent service, I believe there's always room for improvement. Looking forward to their next evolution in their...
Read moreI work on Las Olas and usually go all the way to Wilton Manors for my favourite Asian place -- TeeJays Thai Sushi (ANYONE READING THIS, STOP, AND GO THERE INSTEAD -- MUCH BETTER IN EVERYWAY, HIGHER QUALITY AND CHEAPER), but today it was closed. I love PhatBoy in Oakland Park. That is not the case here. First, I ordered take out over the phone and was told 15 mins. I walk in 10/15 mins after the call, so I was expecting a wait. I watched my order get prepped, but not put into a takeout bag (it was already in takeout boxes). The woman working was completely overwhelmed and I do not blame her, but she was useless. Then I come to find out that I was double charged for a house salad (which should have been included in my Yakisoba lunch special). I ended up waiting for an additional 10 minutes, for no reason, in a tiny section packed full of other people clearly waiting much longer than anticipated. Defeated, I finally leave and get back to my office where I come to find out my gyoza is cold (cause it sat there for at least 15 mins), both my salads (which I was double charged for) had the wrong dressing, and the yakisoba was over cooked, over seasoned, and had little to no chicken in it. I work with hundreds of people over the course of the week in the Ft Lauderdale area and will be sharing my experience with anyone who will listen. I will never...
