Today I want to share my favorite dishes to order whenever I visit Phat Boy Sushi. From the moment you walk in, the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff set the tone for a memorable dining experience.
To start, I highly recommend the gyozas. Each dumpling is expertly pan-fried to achieve a crisp outer layer while maintaining a savory, flavorful filling inside. They are the perfect appetizer to kick off your meal. If you’re looking for something hearty and satisfying, the panko chicken sandwich is always a crowd-pleaser. The crunchy breading paired with tender chicken makes this sandwich a standout choice.
For fans of Japanese comfort food, the tonkotsu ramen is a must-try. Its rich, creamy broth and perfectly cooked noodles come together to create a deeply comforting bowl of ramen. Another dish that consistently impresses me is the steak fried rice. It’s packed with tender steak pieces and seasoned to perfection, making it incredibly satisfying.
No visit to Phat Boy Sushi would be complete without trying their lychee martini. This cocktail is delightfully sweet and refreshing, providing a light finish to balance out the savory dishes. Be sure to ask about their specials as well—Phat Boy frequently introduces creative new menu items and drinks, adding variety to every visit.
With several locations across South Florida, including Coral Springs, Fort Lauderdale, and Davie, Phat Boy Sushi has become my go-to spot for those times when I’m craving delicious Japanese-inspired cuisine. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure a fantastic experience, and their recommendations never disappoint. If you’re searching for a new favorite restaurant, Phat Boy Sushi should definitely be at the top...
Read moreI am very upset, I was throwing up all night and have been extremely dizzy and have puffy eyes. I have serve food poisoning. I was in the restaurant around 11 pm last night and ordered a Jb tempura roll. I have ordered the JB tempura roll numerous times even when you were at the smaller location down the street. When the roll got to the table I thought something looked off, it had a lot more pieces than normally what comes with the roll. The roll looked horrible it was cold, keep in mind I’ve ordered this numerous times and I’ve never ever ever have been severed this roll cold even if the restaurant is packed, which it wasn’t last night. So on top of the fact that I had clearly been served an older roll that was probably sitting around for hours, the salmon inside of a few pieces was GREYYYY and smelt horrible, I have never seen grey salmon in the roll before. At this point I had already eaten 2 pieces because I was tired and didn’t want complain because I thought Phat Boy was having a rare bad night, but finally I said something and they took it back. No apology no concern, just said will bring you a “Hot” one. Every single time I order this roll the 2 end pieces of the roll are round and fried on the complete outside compared to the centerpieces that are fried on the rim not the sides. The second roll they brought us back only had one end piece . At this point it kind of looked like they fried half my roll again and gave it back to me. I suffered through 3 pieces, took everything to go. My fault being in the culinary industry myself this could’ve turned out a lot worse for me, you don’t mess with fish. 120$ bill for food posing, very sad my favorite sushi spot I...
Read moreOur first time there. Our first impression was that it was extremely loud inside. They had music playing very loudly, and a few moments after we were seated it got even louder. It was a Friday night, and the server told us that was normal, so if you’re looking for a quiet place to eat this is not the place for you.
We found the service to be friendly, And our server was available often enough that we never once wondered where she went.
My wife enjoyed her Volcano sushi roll, but my experience was sadly not as good. I ordered the curry Ramen bowl. It was huge, so definitely worth the price from a size perspective. However, I have tasted much better curry flavor, and frankly the noodles were as bland as they could be. It felt like the dish needed salt. Now I will say that I am no Ramen expert, and it is possible that the flavor was “authentic” and I would never know. However, it definitely was not a super flavorful dish.
My wife also ordered a salad with ginger dressing, and although overall it was tasty, there was too much vinegar, and not enough sugar in the dressing, making it taste sour. The flavor balance was definitely off.
In summary, for us it was a three star experience but we won’t discourage you from trying it. It’s a lively energetic place with alot of people, so...
