Uncle Louie G Italian Ices & Ices Cream — Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale

I have been craving an authentic Italian ice for months. I finally was able to check out one near me here in Ft Lauderdale on N Federal Hwy. One of the owners was so amazing and sweet! She informed me on the differences in the Italian ices, gave great recommendations and allowed me to do a taste test! I ended up buying 3 pints and when i tell you, you won't be disappointed! I ordered pina colada/strawberry mixed- the colada had pieces of coconut in it and the strawberry had pieces of strawberries in it, blue raspberry- really makes your mouth blue and cherry which had pieces of cherries in it. A real sour taste in my mouth came from the owners' attitude. From the moment I entered, it was evident they had no interest in customer service. They were dismissive, bordering on rude, and seemed more preoccupied with chatting amongst themselves than serving the paying customers waiting patiently. It felt like they were doing me a favor by allowing me to buy their lackluster ice cream.

I left Louie's feeling not only disappointed by the poor quality of their ice cream but also disheartened by the owners' unprofessional behavior. Gave them a try. I bought ice cream and shakes. For some reason their ice cream is just weird tasting. It doesn't have this dairy taste like you get from good ice cream places, there is no pronounced "made from real milk" taste. Instead, there is this weird "filler" or "thickener" taste (I presume). Overall, it is just not a good taste for an ice cream, reminds of, I'd say, a synthetic taste of sorts. Nothing that reminds of country or "like a grandma used to make it".
