Amazing Katsu and Boba here! Took the family here and we all loved it so much. The "Wang Donkatsu" was so large my wife and daughters all shared it. It was fried perfectly, the crispness of the pork was great, it was perfectly cut with no fat and the panko was perfectly crunchy. We would have thought that was the best, but my son and I tried the "Curry Katsu Don" and it crushed in flavor. We truly love a terrific Japanese curry and this did not disappoint. Not to strong a flavor but we ate a lot before I thought to take a photo. Also the Boba was tasty as well. We tried the brown sugar, the mango, and the milk tea. All were very good. A great frozen treat to have with the meal. Lastly, the staff was very friendly and served us outside promptly, we had a warm goodbye as well. Do yourself a favor and come to Katsune Donkatsu Cafe. It will fill you with delicious food and joy!

Walking into Katsune Donkatsu Cafe feels like discovering a friendly neighborhood gem of Japanese comfort food. The star of the show is their Chicken Katsu—a perfectly light, golden‑crisp batter encasing tender and very juicy. The menu is broad and flavorful, from the indulgent Cheese Donkatsu to the rich Curry Pork and Wang Donkatsu .Prices are reasonable—most mains range from about $16–$22—offering a true value for top‑tier breaded perfection . Add‑ons like crisp slaw and tangy sauces round out the experience. The vibe is casual and unpretentious: a no‑frills counter‑service space with outdoor seating options. If you’re craving satisfying Japanese comfort food—crispy, juicy, flavorful—Katsune Donkatsu Cafe is a must‑visit. Just be prepared to savor every crunchy bite.

Was looking for good katsu place in NJ and gave it a shot here. Original pork katsu was awesome. Surface batter is super crispy and pork inside is very tender, no complaint. However, cheese katsu wasn’t so great. Pork wasn’t as tender as that of original katsu. They first shape the pork katsu like mini bowl and pour cheese in it. So I’m guessing the shaping part is what makes the pork less tender. My main minus points for this place are 1. It wasn’t that well organized inside the restaurant so didn’t feel very good and relaxing for dining in. 2. It was bit shocking to me that they 100% use only plastic/one-off packaging even for those who dine-in. Too much waste. Might come here again to pick up their original katsu, once in a while.

This was my sister and I’s go-to donkatsu place until our horrible experience with their service last Saturday. TLDR; we waited about 45 minutes in total, which was a time filled with frustration and confusion due to the lack of communication from their side. We were also promised a partial refund for the items we ordered and didn’t get, but they haven’t even done that yet. One advice, DO NOT DINE IN HERE, as they clearly prioritize take out orders.

Upon ordering, we were notified right away that they ran out of cheese katsu, which we were fine with. So we ordered a bunch of other katsus and sides, that altogether added up to $90. After about 5 minutes or so, the female employee notified us that they had ran out of shrimp tempura and that she’ll refund us—OK, fine, we kept waiting.

Then, we noticed that we had been waiting for 20 minutes for our order. When my sister asked the male employee about it, he told us it’s coming. So we waited another 10 minutes—only to get the katsus and none of the side dishes that we ordered/that normally come with katsus—no rice, no pickles, no miso soup, no curry. Mind you, this whole time, they were still rolling out their pick-up orders. Not to mention the two groups that came in after us got their food. It was only when my sister confronted the female employee that we found out they had accidentally canceled our entire order somehow. We were enraged at this point, but the only compensation? Free drinks, which we did not need because we had bought our own prior to all this.

After that, the miso soup came out (which was insanely salty btw) and we waited AGAIN for everything else, only to be told they were out of basically all the sides (curry, pickles, and rice). At that point we were too hungry so we started eating the katsu without rice (which is criminal btw). It was only after maybe 10 minutes of eating and then FINISHING the katsus, they gave us our rice.

This never happened before, and I wonder if it was due to the three young incompetent employees that were there that night. I only had good experience with the older ladies who are usually there. To the manager, if you’re going to continue your dine-in service, consider retraining your young employees as none of them knew how to resolve...

Once upon a time to my knowledge everyone was positive and polite….than the proclaimed manager/ owner. It was Always pleasant when we went there a little place on the corner of Anderson oh the food was delicious. One day however my spouse threw up after eating the spring. After I search one of the shrimp still had the waist vein inside. I called politely because no need to be nasty to people who have always been pleasant but this time the owner come to the phone. She was the nastiest business owner I have ever encountered in America!!!!!!!!!! I expected “o this is unusual we can offer another order shrimp next visit or o a refund for the shrimp”. We we not trying to hustle for shrimp, if we didn’t have the money to buy shrimps we wouldn’t . We simply wanted to enjoy what we paid for , since we threw out the shrimp after the throw up session. This was the first time this had happened there so we were not upset with the business so the call was rather in amicable nature but when the owner that got on the phone And was the nastiest. I live in a Korean town I have tons of interactions with places of Asian ownership. However I have never heard a owner speak to a guest or a patron that way in my life. I was disappointed and surprised and appalled. She said” why You call here? Don’t call here again don’t come back here!” 😱 screaming I was so shocked I only looked at the phone. Who speaks like that to a patron that approaches them amicably? Lovely workers nasty owner that speaks to patrons as if they are beneath and she is over them.

I reported to the consumers affairs with pictures and will continue. She was nastiest owner who needs to learn customer service from...

Used to be my go to place but not sure what happen these days. I'm posting this so the owner can see this and will work more on employee service training since their food is 4 star while customer service is 0. They forgot to put shrimp katsu sauce 2 times in a row, first time was thru uber eats so I got partial refund from uber (about $5? $3?) But this time, it was phone order and the guy put the blame on new employee and said ' you can come pick it up or I will refund you 5 cents.' And he claims the sauce is very cheap (BTW they charge 1.88 for wang tonkatsu sauce on their website). So I argued since the store messed up my order, they should be delivering it to me, not the other way around or something more than ' 5 cents '. Then he said, "If you want I can give you free drink next time and that's the best I can do, thank you" then he just hung up. Really??? Anyhow, if you gonna order here, especially shrimp katsu, you may wanna order thru Ubereats since that way, at least you will have better resolution about your...
