Einstein Bros. Bagels — Restaurant in Fort Liberty

As the paint dried on the walls I stared in awe that is was occurring faster than the service here. A lesson that the gates of purgatory are always open especially to those the have expectations. I arrived to a girl who said "I'm new" right off the bat my forgiving heart felt her pain. The uncertainty, the stress, and I tried to slow down the order. They were out of almost everything I requested. I asked for an assortment. "I'm sorry. I don't know what you mean. I have only been here for two months." I mean a mix of a half dozen bagels. "Well I don't know what that means, can you just pick?" Why yes yes I can, my soft heart hardened at two months. Two months isn't new unless you work once a week. I leave with my order only to discover I'm missing half of it. That is ok! I'll go back. I go in, I ask, and they start talking &%$@# about me asking for help. Granted it was hushed whispers so I will give them that. Overall, I got my order correct after maybe the 8th try and corrected after 3. Success! Food is good. I love that this restaurant exists on post. Many people I've come across don't realize that there's a location here, but I am always sure to tell them where its located because it has been a family favorite of ours before moving to this area. The staff always makes sure that they get your order right, and I've even witnessed them walk over to an elderly couple to give them their order so they wouldn't have to stand or wait at the counter. Members of my family enjoy their schmearfuls so much. Unfortunately, on more than one occasion their machine to bake them was broken. I don't mind waiting for them to finish in the regular oven because I'm normally not in a rush; however, I know they must be losing a lot of business because of this. It would be so great if they could get this fixed soon so their customers can get their orders quickly and not have to wait longer than normal. Just turned 11am, not even lunch rush yet and hardly any customers. They stated they stopped making some of their bagels already and the bagel case is near empty. I placed my order and the lady was sighing obviously annoyed. I used to work here for years and the job isn't that bad. I don't see pj who was the manager then, he held more of a standard than this. They don't have hot items in foil wraps for sandwiches, everything is in a deli wrap. No bagel boxes apparently neither. Nova lox not in a view box and no capers added. Cold case not stocked, no egg timers on, no coffee timer running &coffee bar not stocked. 1120 I left with my order and the drink was last to come out. Not once did I hear the back sink by the door have the lady wash her hands nor did I see anyone wash their hands.
