Only 1 star because I'm not able to give zero or a negative. My wife and I have been here a handful of times before and always received great service and food. Last night (2/25/22) we arrived and waited approximately 30 mins, which is normal anywhere these days. We had no problem waiting. Once seated, appetizer and drink orders were taken immediately. Shortly after we ordered a pizza. The waitress let us know she was new so we took that into consideration as we sat and waited for our dinner to arrive. As we sat there for what seemed like a longer than normal time to receive our food, we noticed another table, who had ordered after us, receive their food. My face must have started showing some agitation because at that point, the waitress looks at my wife and I and states that she's going to see what's going on with our food. Turns out there was a bubble in the center of the pizza that popped, so they made a new one. No one from the kitchen staff communicated that with the waitress therefore, we were not given the opportunity to accept the pizza the way it was or say, go ahead and make another and we'll wait. Finally the pizza came but then we were now waiting extra long for our 3rd beer. At this point I was quite agitated, but kept it to myself so as to continue having a good evening with my wife. As we sat there, we noticed a lady at another table send a plate of food back. The waiter of that table was placing plates in front of the wrong person and they were having to pass exchange plates with others and seemed very agitated as well. Anyway, our waitress brings our bill. She had accidentally charged 3 beers fro our last order instead of 2 and pointed out that she had removed it. At this point, we had decided we were going to see how important of a customer my wife and I were and stated to the waitress that we would not be back. She said sorry and asked if I would like to speak to a manager, where I replied with " looks pretty busy in here, so losing our business probably wouldn't matter". Now, if I'm the waiter and I just heard that, I would immediately contact my manager to let them know but that never happened. We paid our $118.45, plus tip, Bill for 2 people (an amount close to what we have spent every time). As we walked upstairs, the lady who had seated us was sweeping. She said thanks for coming and have a good night where once again I replied with we probably won't be back. Her response was really???, You won't be back and I replied that is correct. Again, nothing happened. No one tried to approach us to see why as we walked out. Now, I won't say we will never go back, but I will say, there's a good chance that we won't. There's an Italian place closer to my house and if I'm just going to get mediocre food and service, then I'll save the fuel and go to the place...
Read moreUPDATE from previous review: I did change my review stars from 2 to 5 because the owner reached out to me and was very genuine in her concern regarding my experience. Most people do not care to reach out at all or will deflect blame. I truly appreciated the care for my situation and wanting to make things right.
Me and my family have come here a few times, it's a place we go to celebrate since the speak easy downstairs gives celebration vibes. This weekend we were celebrating my 40th birthday. We were a party of 8 but 6 showed up, the other two had an unexpected issue and were running behind. I asked that they just sit us since I hadn't heard from the other 2 and didn't even know if they were still coming. Our waitress asked if it was just us 6 and I told her the situation she said we couldn't order until we confirmed we were 6 only or they got there. I said that was fine and I proceeded to message my friend to make sure they were still able to come. They were so we waited to order food and just had drinks. At the time we were the only people downstairs and our table had 2 extra seats so it was perfect. When my friends arrived they were pretty much harassesed over the restaurants policy and were told they would have to see if 2 separate seats were available for them at a different table downstairs. My friend called me and said she was not allowed to come down until they confirmed. I went upstairs and let them know we had 2 seats open and had not ordered food. They still proceeded to freak out and finally we were told it was OK. That's not without saying our waitress got scolded for it!!! That experience alone has forever ruined us from going back. I understand there is a policy but this was on a whole other level of crazy. My friend who owns a restaurant was the party late and was treated so terribly is was embarrassing she also as a business owner understands policy but also understands exceptions can be made. Other than myself and husband none of my family had been there before so that first impression was not good. The food was delicious and the saving grace for the night. I am sad knowing we will not be going back because I did enjoy the ambiance downstairs and loved going to celebrate people but this celebration was not an enjoyable one. There were other issues throughout the night with ordering drinks, getting drinks ordered and an extremely bright light in my aunts face that took 15 plus minutes to fix after it was brought up she couldn't see. We felt like we were treated like we weren't...
Read moreI 100% recommended this place! The staff is full of hard workers who are charismatic and ambitious! They all are very attentive and very kind! Our server Ms. Mel was fantastic and made us feel at home. She has an amazing personality and you can tell she’s an awesome leader! There food was delicious, the ambiance was cozy and classy, and the drinks were fantastic (those of course were also made by Mel). I appreciate all the hard work from the staff! They were running around and helping out every table as fast and as efficient as possible even though they are short staffed. Thank Wholly Stromboli, and Mel for a great one of kind experience. My family and I are so thankful.
———————————— I went to this restaurant 8 months ago before I got my diagnosis of being Celiac (allergic to gluten/ wheat). It has been a super hard lifestyle change for me because of my love for pasta and bread. There are tons of gluten free products and food out there but usually the texture and consistency is never the same as items with gluten in them and ultimately, they don't really taste the same. If you know you know. ANYWAYS, I had the gluten free Garlic Knots and the Gluten Free Shrimp Scampi chefs kiss ABSOLUTELY delicious, to the point where it was suspicious and I wanted to cry. I was so prepared for it to be the "average gluten free" pasta and it was so much more. I devoured my dinner and kept thinking to myself "there is no way this is gluten free". I recommend Wholly Stromboli to all my friends and family and especially, my gluten free and celiac friends! Misty our server was very friendly and personable and the general manager came to our table to check in on us and be sure our food was delicious! Another great experience in the books! Gluten free friends- they have more than just salads and zoodles as options and don't let being gluten free or celiac...
