I have been eating Krispy Kreme donuts in the Chicago area and around the country for over a decade (maybe close to 2).
The glazed donuts are the best you can find (and I love the blueberry cake donut if you can find it), although my wife thinks the glazed donuts at this new location are always undercooked. Most of the other donuts are horrible to mediocre at best; and service is always exceptionally terrible (although polite and friendly).
Today they were the least busy I have ever seen, since opening the new Fort Myers store, with maybe 5 groups in front of me and about 5 cars in the drive thru. They were out of 5 flavors and said they werent making anymore. There were 10 employees visible, several working hard making donuts but several just hanging around. Of those 10 employees, there was only 1 on register and she was also tasked to make all the coffees and drink orders. Needless to say, myself, 2 people behind me with 1 donut each and 2 ladies in front of me all had to wait 15 minutes to pay so the 1st two people in line could get coffee. When asked if another employee could cash us out, we were all told they were understaffed and frequently only have 1 POS person on register. It is incomprehensible to me why they don't have a separate person making drinks and handing them to people when they are done. Several people in front of me simply walked out and guys behind me said they will never be back.
I dont fault the workers but the management and systems need to be replaced before this store looses all of its customers. I'm now wondering if this inefficiency is intentional so that the store always has a line and looks busy or if they are really this stupid.
So if you want an exceptional glazed donut, pack a lunch and coloring book for the kids, as it will be a while even if your at the front...
Read moreI was a walk-in today, other than going through the drive-through. 1) It took maybe 3 minutes before anybody actually spoke to me, despite there being only one other person in the store and there being enough employees to where that was unacceptable. 2) 2nd time in a row I've been in the store and no cinnamon sugar donuts or even a sign designating such a spot for them anywhere in the display case. 3) Worst of all - I've contacted corporate more than once about this. The reason I am sometimes a "difficult customer" is because Krispy Kreme could definitely and easily be doing more to be more environmentally conscious. I try to tell employees I want my donuts in bags, not boxes, because your bags are recyclable, and I do recycle them. I specifically instruct them about this every time I go in (which is not that often). The boxes you all put donuts in are NOT recyclable because they are waxed paper. Corporate could EASILY make them recyclable (just regular brown thin cardboard stock boxes) and, if they're concerned about donuts sticking to the box or presentation, they could just put wax paper below and/or on top of the donuts to prevent them from sticking to the box. A sheet or two of wax paper would be far less TRASH than one of those boxes you all currently use are. But corporate isn't doing this because there isn't a LAW that makes them do it. But then again, how many of your customers actually WOULDN'T take the trouble to recycle them?! The problem isn't just corporations, it's also regular everyday people who don't care and who also don't have laws MAKING them behave better. Well, that's the reason our world is so messed-up. Corporations that just don't care + People who just don't care = DOOM. Krispy Kreme, you...
Read moreWe absolutely love Krispy Kreme donuts, so it makes me sad to leave this review.. we brought our kids for donuts this morning and had a hard time finding a clean spot to sit. We are not normally picky about this kind of thing, but every table and chair had chocolate icing or other large donut crumbs smeared on them. We were the only customers inside the store at the time, so they weren’t too busy to keep an eye on the dining room. I went to the counter to ask for a wipe or something to clean the tables and chairs. About 8-10 minutes later (with the kids crying over wanting their donuts), someone came over with a wipe and wiped the table down. I also mentioned to her that there was chocolate smeared on the chairs, even asked if I could just clean it. Instead of answering me, she just ignored me and went back to her task of placing donuts in boxes. I then went to another associate asking for something to clean the chairs down with. He was very kind, but the workers behind him made fun of us while we waited for him to get the cleaning supplies.
We were not at any point rude to the team in this store, and patiently waited for each step of this cleaning process. I wish there was more focus placed on the cleanliness of this store as well as more customer service training for the associates who ignored and made fun..
A couple other things we noticed.. the hot light was on and our donuts were cold, we were not given a receipt, the manager seemed annoyed when my husband went back to ask for one. We wanted to fill out a survey instead of posting this publicly, but they don’t have a feedback option on the...
