Nothing Bundt Cakes — Restaurant in Fort Myers

Let’s start with my experience first...soooo...as my family (fiancé, future mother-n-law, and brother) and I walked in we were greeted by the young lady in the front. We started to look at the different flavors that were offered. We went there to do a tasting of the cake and different flavors for our wedding in December 2021. As we’re looking at the flavors and trying to decide which to try, Kyleigh came from the back and started to chat with us. I mentioned that this was our first time there and we were there to try some of the different flavors in hope of finding the perfect one for our wedding. She was very kind and explained to me that she could give us the bundtinis (one of every flavor) to try. I was excited about that because all of the cakes looked amazing. She kindly told us that it would take about 10 minutes to get that together for us. As we waited another customer came in to get an order. He told us that the cakes were AMAZING and he raved about them! He said that they’re addicting! That made us more excited because again we were looking to find the right place to do our wedding cake and we’re on crunch time so wanted to find a place and get locked in. Anyways, we looked at the displays in the store and other items they had to offer. Other customers came in and we overheard one of them talking about how great the cakes were and she was glad to know that they had one down here (Florida) because they are up north.

The other employee working (I didn’t catch her name) told us that she was going to check on our order. Again, great customer service! Kyleigh came out shortly thereafter with our order. We were so confident that these cakes were going to be great 😂 so we purchased 3 additional bundtlets. Kyleigh informed us of the eClub and answered our questions about how soon to place our order for our wedding cake. Again, GREAT customer service!

Soooo we get home and try all of the flavors...again hoping that the cake would be moist and we would be satisfied with one of the flavors.

E-V-E-R-Y flavor was absolutely amazing!!!!!!!! You CANNOT go wrong with any flavor you choose! All of them were moist, not overly sweet, just PERFECT!

Soooooo....the flavor we chose for our wedding is the white chocolate raspberry!!!!!! We will be putting in our order very soon!!!!!!!!

Today, May 17, 2024, my wife asked me to pick up an 8" Red Velvet Bundt Cake (Fort Myers Store). I was greeted by a nice associate, but when she couldn't figure out how to handle the 2nd coupon I had with me, she went to the back to get her supervisor. This supervisor was NOT friendly. She claimed the coupon was dated 2009. I had to explain to her that the year 2009 was "Nothing Bundt Cakes" Copyright year. Can you believe that? I was dumbfounded that this person is a supervisor and doesn't know about Copyrights. Anyway, here's the complete story...

...my wife had two coupons, which she called the store about the day before (May 16th) and was told she could use the coupons together. However, when I arrived at the store, the first associate (as I mentioned above) was nice, and she explained that one of the two coupons was expired and therefore it couldn't be used, which I was fine with. Obviously my wife didn't see the date that was printed on the coupon because it was extremely tiny. Regardless, the second coupon didn't have an expiration date and it seemed to be a coupon from the parent "Nothing Bundt Cakes" company. The nice associate went to get her supervisor and that's when the situation became awkward and very unpleasant. This supervisor told me that she contacted the owner and the owner said not to accept the coupon since it doesn't have a expiration date. The supervisor then said she could give me a military discount - but that did NOT happen either - maybe because the supervisor didn't finish the sale (it was the younger, nicer associate who completed the transaction). I needed the cake for a graduation party, so I bought it to make my child happy. But, it will be the last cake I buy from Nothing Bundt Cakes. Publix bakery does a fantastic job and we have never been disappointed with their cakes. Not to mention, they are much more friendly. With Nothing Bundt Cakes, you never know what you're going to get because they lack consistency. I will also contact the parent company to escalate this matter so that the Fort Myers store is properly educated on corporate coupons, and educated on what a Copyright is. I hope you do not experience the same lack of quality customer service.

RESPONSE TO OWNER'S REPLY: I have already completed the survey through the link at the main "Nothing Bundt Cakes" website, the same day I posted this message. I completed a 2nd survey moments ago. I still have the coupon that I tried using at the store on May 17th, but, the Supervisor/Mngr said she took a picture of the coupon and sent it to the owner, so you should have it. I almost feel bad for rating this place I frequent so often so low, but I can’t take it anymore. This is not to the franchise owner, but rather to people (seemingly of a darker hue) that may want to patron this “bakery.” I went to put in a cake order for my parents wedding, the cashier (an elderly woman) was short with me the entire time as if my mere presence bothered her. She rushed me through my order, and when I asked about purchasing cutlery and plates since y’know we planned on eating the cake! She rolled her eyes and told me to just focus on the cake order so they can just get it done quickly. Fine. The next problem came up when she just left the cash register and went to the back where they frost the cakes, she isn’t the froster (I know the froster). I was there holding the packet of plastic and paper ware while they all stayed in the back laughing and talking. If you got through this review, this the behavior and attitude of all the older staff, super rude and uncourteous if you don’t look like them. I will continue to patron this business because I truly enjoy their products, but if I see any of the older staff at the cash register, I’m turning around...
