The Sandbar & Grille — Restaurant in Fort Myers

"Laid back beach vibe" LoL, Nothing about this place was laid back or beachy. If your a cigarette smoker this place is the spot for you. It was like the people in the booth behind were the culprits but it was just from the huge open hole in the wall for a outside bar. About everyone at the outside bar was smoking. Poor idea. Is this the beach vibe that is claimed by the owner? I couldn't not find one item inside confirming this statement, just much sports memorabilia and very loud sound for the main TV. Server's can't hear you and you have to scream to communicate. This causing every person to pretty much yell at each other. Super loud. Asked if the speakers could be turned down and servers said other people already asked her the same thing and her request to management was waved off. More of a "Dive Bar" than a restaurant. Food: oily and tasted like old oil. I go out to dinner a lot every weekend and come back frequently to places I like. First and last time I will be here, unless I become drunken cigarette smoker. Table was very wobbly and we all had to share one menu. Really? The server did shove a bunch of napkins under the table leg so our drinks stopped spilling. Thanks.

PLEASE READ THIS AND TAKE THIS AS A WARNING, UNLESS YOU LIKE THE DIVE BAR EXPERIENCE, THIS WILL SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME. PLEASE CORRECT THE OWNERS STATEMENT "THE LAID BACK BEACH VIBE" TO "OLD, OUTDATED, CIGARETTE FRIENDLY, SPORTS BAR"!

Pretty sure this place is just scraping by due to it's cigarette smoking regular drinkers and first time people making the mistake of not reading reviews before...

I Went here with my son after his soccer game on Saturday August 3rd around 1:30pm. Brooke was our server. She was great. I have been to this bar about a half a dozen times over the last few months, it's slowly becoming my new watering hole. The food presentation was great, the food was good and has always been good for bar food. I enjoy their tacos and hot boneless wings. I normally drink a Modelo with a lime. The owner/manager did come over to ask how our meal was, which was nice. Brooke was excellent and a pleasure to talk too. I had a $15 gift card from the last time I was in and randomly decided to play trivia and crushed the competition getting 1st place as a walk-in, with a big bar tab that day. The rest of the staff seemed friendly and smiled when I made eye contact with them, which is a huge deal to me, considering I myself work in the customer service industry (professional poker dealer). We did not need to ask for napkins, silverware, or any condiments, which is huge in my opinion when you go out to eat. Brooke was spot on with beers and refills for myself and my son. Again, it's slowly becoming my new watering 🕳️. Plenty of TVs and they were playing the Olympics over the speakers which was nice. All of the customers seem to be nice and are very cordial when I started a conversation with some people at the bar. I will continue to go back. Here is a few pictures from my last few visits....

We keep trying to give this place a chance, but to no avail. I ordered new chicken marsala entree with side of veggies. I explained to waitress that last week, they never brought veggies. She said no problem. Food was delivered, veggies were cold. I asked if she could microwave them for 30 seconds. No problem she said. She walked by 2 minutes later with no vegetables. My friend ordered chicken quesadillas. See attached picture for the empty tortilla. They were basically a tortilla with very little inside. It was insulting. Alexa, the waitress never came by to check on us or bring back vegetables. Finally flagged down what looked to be a manager. He looked at the QUESADILLAS and said wow, I'll take care of that No apologies or anything. 5-10 minutes later, new quesadillas came out. I was done with chicken marsalla which was dry chicken breasts with a couple mushrooms on them. My friend took one bite of the new quesadillas and was done. We finally saw Alexa 15 minutes later and asked for our check. Neither our waitress or manager apologized. Alexa never mentioned the vegetables again or brought them out.

In closing, this place might be ok for some drinks, but the food is lacking any quality and the service is hit/miss. It is just like they dont care. Only way I can...
