Before I paid the down payment which included shipping as a separate line item (I have the invoice), I asked my salesperson, specific questions. The first was, since the sofa already was in stock, and I was paying shipping on both items, could it be delivered as soon as I wanted it without any additional cost, otherwise, I wasn’t interested in placing the order and buying it or the matching loveseat as I was looking for something that could be delivered immediately. The salesperson told me that would be no problem at all and assured me of immediate delivery once I notified her. I called the salesperson on Thursday Jan 23rd and left a message for her to call me back as I wanted to set up delivery for the sofa. The salesperson didn't call me back, which had become the norm, once I had placed the order, as there were many other unreturned calls. I called her back on the store line Friday the 24th of January and luckily, she answered the call obviously unaware it was me calling because once she realized it was me, she said, Oh! This is Neal. I proceeded to tell her I wanted to set up immediately delivery of the sofa and then she responded with “ I don’t know if we can do that “. I told her she promised me I could have it delivered immediately, at any time of my choosing, and she knew it was the sole reason I bought the sofa because it was in stock and available for immediate delivery. She then told me that she was going to have a meeting the next morning, Saturday the 25th, with her manager at 8 AM in the morning, and promised to call back at 9 AM that Saturday with an answer. I waited until 7 that night, which was closing time, and never received a call. I never received another call until February 5th, from the manager, because they knew I had canceled the order through my credit card saying he wanted to “now,” arrange the delivery. Once they had the order which they lied to me to get, they never returned countless calls, then lied about the delivery of the sofa and as I found out on the same call, the love seat as well. The love seat was supposed to be a maximum delivery of 6 weeks from December 12 /2024, with 4 weeks being the most likely. The salesperson mentioned at the time I had talked to her about delivery of the sofa that that date had been changed to February 24. That’s 4 weeks and 4 days longer than what was promised. I knew I needed to contact credit card company to resolve the problem and have the order canceled as they had already proven they weren’t trustworthy. Since the time I made the dispute with my credit card company, I have read literally thousands of complaints about the La z boy confirming my experiences and worst suspicions. Go to Facebook and look up Lazy Boy complaints, you'll read literately thousand of complaints.
Unfortunately, Lazy Boy of Fort Myers lied to my credit card company as I have a copy of their response. My credit card company is letting me continue the dispute as long as I respond to their response to the credit card company. I question their positive reviews knowing that reviews can be easily manipulated by anyone who has a vested interest in the store. Also, very important, this store is not an official corporate La z boy store. I am EXTREMELY HAPPY TO REPORT THAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND A HEART TO HELP PEOPLE STILL LIVES IN THE HEART OF JEWELS AND CINDY two wonderful associates at this Ft Myers La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries store!!! Cindy was my first contact when I called on a Thursday evening not too long before closing. I had a TON of questions about pricing and availability of several styles and fabrics and Cindy took the time to answer ALL of them, never making me feel like I put her out or burdened her even though she had to know the probability of a sale to someone in another state that was shopping for some else that wasn't even involved in the conversation did not have a high chance of happening. Wow, that's not only great Customer Service, that's a kind heart!! I was so, so thankful Cindy had answered the phone!!! My next contact came the next day and was with another WONDERFUL sales associate named Jewels. She not only took the time to answer some other questions I had come up with she also did LOTS of leg work going back and forth to the clearance section to help me when I was trying to find ways to get the most out of my money. She too was so, so very kind to me, never making me feel like I was asking too much of her. It was also Jewels that showed my family member the items we had discussed, only to come up empty handed, yet she continued to take my calls and never seemed put out by them. We were looking for something available to have with in a few days that fit in the space we had available. My family member reported Jewels to be very kind and helpful as well. I'm going to guess I spoke with Jewels 6-8 times that day and it was ONLY THROUGH her help and kindness I was finally able to locate a sofa and chair on clearance in another La-Z-Boy store that she arranged to be shipped in less than a week. Jewels and Cindy, it was your kind hearts that made this seemingly impossible task doable, and I can't thank you enough!! I hope the kindness you showed to me comes back to you...
Read moreWe bought an $1150 shag carpet from these thieves this past year (in addition to a 5-year protection plan and bunch of other furniture). The carpet is obviously of very poor quality and sheds mercilessly all over the rest of our home.
The best part is that when we reported the issue to out "sales rep" Tim and "store manger" Rick, they blow off the issue and even stated in writing that the issue is "normal" according to the manufacturer. Apparently, we purchased an $1150 dollar disintegrating carpet as it's "normal" to shed all over a customer's home! It's a shame they left that out of the "sales pitch."
What a crock. Forget buying anything from this place!!! They lied a number of times to us about our delivery dates and won't even return phone calls and emails to customers who dropped thousands of dollars on furniture at the store!!! Read the reviews - they are horrible!
These people are a joke!!! Run!!! Go somewhere else with better service, employees, and quality! This place isn't worth your time or money!

SECOND, IVE HAD A NUMBER OF HANDMADE RUGS WITHOUT THIS PROBLEM, AND THIRD, YOU PEOPLE HAVENT EVEN COME TO INSPECT IT TO KNOW FIRST HAND HOW MUCH SHEDDING WE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS LOW QUALITY GARBAGE THAT YOU SELL. FUTHER MORE, WE PURCHASED A SPECIAL CANISTER VACCUM AND A RAKE TO CARE FOR THE CRAPPY RUG, AND WE ALSO PURCHASED A ROBOT VACCUM TO PICK UP THE DAILY SHEDDINGS OF THIS LOW QUALITY CRAPPY CARPET YOU SOLD US. THE ROBOT STAYS OFF THE CARPUT BUT SWEEPS THE REST OF THE HOME TO COLLET THE STRINGS THAT HAVE BEEN LEFT ALL OVER PLACE FROM THIS PIECE OF LAZY BOY JUNK!!!
