Taco Dive: A Small Hidden Gem with Big Discovered Flavors
When I read reviews about Taco Dive, I thought, Letâs do this!âespecially after seeing how knowledgeable they were about gluten-free options. That level of awareness is always a huge plus for me.
Upon arrival, I noticed that the pictures online didnât quite match the realityâit was much smaller than I expected. But let me tell you, what it lacked in size, it more than made up for in flavor! My goodness, every bite was packed with bold, delicious taste, and the portion sizes were surprisingly generous for the price.
The gluten-free options were so well made that I had to double-check with the staffâmy gluten anxiety kicked in because it tasted too good to be true! One note for fellow gluten-free diners: while the chips themselves are gluten-free, they are fried in the same fryer as other items containing gluten, so they arenât 100% safe for those with severe sensitivities or celiac.
Beyond the food, the location was perfect, and there was plenty of seating. But what truly stood out was the exceptional serviceâthe hostess was an absolute delight, one of the best Iâve interacted with in a long time. On the day before Motherâs Day, she made the experience even more special.
Taco Diveâs motto is "Not your average hole in the wall,â and they absolutely nailed it. If you havenât been yet, go check it out and see for yourself! Wishing TD much continued successâIâll...
Read moreThis is not your ordinary hole in the wall dive, nor is it your normal taco joint. Be prepared to wait or get here before the lunch or dinner rush because they fill up quickly. Our server Theresa was extremely friendly and really knew her menu. With a table of 6 she made sure we each found exactly what we want on these dynamic twists in tacos. At our table we ordered the Trio as an appetizer, which came with house made tortilla chips, queso, guacamole and salsa. We chose the medium. Then we ordered 2 burritos, one of them wet, a chicken taco bowl, 2 Irish Tacos, a Hot Dog taco and a pork taco. Before long the trio came out and was quickly devoured. Theresa made sure we knew everything was made fresh and it would be a little bit but time went by quickly and our food was brought out. The burritos were huge and looked incredible but I only had eyes for the Irish Taco I ordered. Slow roasted corned beef, sauteed shredded cabbage, tater tots and spicy mustard. I ordered it in corn tortillas. It was love at first bite. The flavor combination was superb! Everyone else happily munched away as I savored each bite. The only bad thing with the meal was I didnt order more. I hope to return again next time we are...
Read moreTaco Dive is far from a dive, however, it does have that casual and welcoming feel that you look for in a dive bar! The four of us started out with some of their craft beers on tap along with FRESH MADE tortilla chips baked to a light and crispy perfection. Seriously, get the chips. We also got the guac, queso and salsa trio which was terrific.
I ordered one Cajun shrimp taco. The shrimp were marinated and cooked perfectly. I never wanted the taco to end. My mom ordered one fresh fish taco which was a drum fish I had never heard of. It was blackened and amazing. She said it couldn't have been better. My dad got one Irish taco which consisted of corned beef slow roasted in cold barley soup, sautéed cabbage, tater tots and spicy mustard. He didn't talk much due to a massive food coma. My boyfriend got 1 steak taco and 1 fresh fish taco. He joined my dad in his food coma.
For lunch, chips and 1 taco was perfect for 3 out of 4. Go for 2 if you have a bottomless stomach.
I guarantee that you'll ring the bell on...
