I brought my mother here for valentines day, already being a regular at their Sunday brunch buffet.
There was a special menu for the night, however one could order off the regular menu if so wished. The Valentines Day menu was four courses: Appetizer choice of arancini or 100 layer potatoes, entree was a choice of gnocchi or filet, the dessert was a surprise, and the last course was coffee and three flavors of tea cookies.
Everything was fabulous. The service was fantastic and our waitress was attentive. We were greeted with roses at the door which was a nice touch. The atmosphere was subdued and made for a pleasant experience. The food was expertly made. Everything was warm, plated neatly, and beautifully.
The arancini was very crisp and had a pleasant bite to the inside, not mushy. The purple rice on the inside added a unique nuttiness and depth of flavor. I should hope to see this as a regular dinner item soon!
Both my mom and I had the filet. Each was cooked exactly the way we wanted; the seasoning on the steak and the black pepper sauce were suited well to the filet and complemented the flavor of the meat rather than overpower it. The potatoes were smooth and rich.
The surprise dessert was very much a surprise! It was a fabulously plated strawberry mousse atop a thin cookie decorated with rose petals. The inside of the mousse had a rich strawberry puree that my mom raved about and the tempered chocolate and cookie had a delicate snap even in the humid Florida air.
I’m not much of a coffee person, so I had an earl grey instead, but they have a great selection of tea and from what I’ve been told by my mother that night: the coffee was great too. The tea cookies served had two types of jam and one chocolate: a perfect way to end the evening.
Both of us were absolutely stuffed by the end of three courses, but there’s always room for a little tea and cookies. :)
If you’re looking to impress your significant other on any night, but especially Valentine’s, this is the place to go. This is truly a hidden gem. Everything is made fresh, by hand, and in house. The chef is extremely talented and inventive. Her creativity not only shone in this night’s courses, but also in the rotating menu for their brunch buffet we visit every week. Even a picky eater has plenty of options considering the diversity of the...
Read moreTo say I came in with HIGH EXPECTATIONS IS an understatement. What else would you think With almost 1200 reviews and a 4.9 rating? I’m Beginning to think and realize that they are asking customers to leave 5* reviews and the majority of them have less than 5 total reviews ever. And some are even from same party with same last name. And then they immediately have 2-3 reactions to Them after they are left….just strange.
Walked in and was greeted right away. Was told to wait a second and hostess would be over to seat us. Hostess ended up being our server….
Entree and appetizer : GREAT! I had the mushroom risotto. Huge portion and was cooked perfectly. Also ordered the mussels. Smaller but were delicious
Drinks: had two waters poured at the table. No ice. Ordered a Diet Coke and a water with lemon. All that was brought to the table was the soda and a plate of lemons. I guess I’m just supposed to put them in the water with no ice? Found that a little odd
Bread wasn’t warm at all and butter was hard.
There were alot of employees working and it seems like they have a team system going on. For a minute I couldn’t figure out who the server was. The person who sat us? Who brought us the menus after being sat? Who Filled up our drinks? Finally we realized it was the “hostess.” Never got her name. Only knew it when getting the bill at the end.
Checked in on multiple times to make sure everything was good. No complaints there.
Finally. Got the bill. Proceeded to pay with a VISA gift card. “I’m sorry. We don’t take those because they don’t have a chip.” It’s not Apple Pay or Venmo or cash app. It’s a gift card that I got for Christmas. Glad I had backup payments. That would’ve been embarrassing.
Like I said. I’m just disappointed.
Great corner location...
Read moreMonday with a 6:30 reservation. There were quite a number of tables already. The staff that I encounter all spoke broken English/Italian. My Campari and soda was quite refreshing. Appetizer of tenderloin Carpacio was delicious but I've never had it garnish with a grilled lemon, I didn't care for it as I want to taste the beef and could have had much more shaved Reggiono and EVOO but lovely presentation. It was a generous portion to be shared. I was going to order Risotto but seeing that fresh egg past being prepared though the glass wall, behind the bar, I went with Spaghetti Carbonara. The pasta was perfectly Al dente' but very tight on the sauce. They pancetta was plenty but temp wasn't hot enough so it sort of stuck together. Carbonara needs to be served immediately but the taste was amazing. The vodka sauce has the same exact comments. $40 bottle of wine, that we asked beforehand if they had they capability to seal for trip home, ( answer was yes) e picked a Pino " Simple Life" it was good but came with a screw top. I was in the ladies room when delivered and when the server screwed the top on ,... well... We had delicious single espresso each and exited. With 2 two people , not drinking (but 1 lower priced pino) , no desserts $153 +20% gratuity. It was good but I would try the risotto if we revisit and maybe try a desert. Oh and the last hour of our visit a very loud table of 14(adults) was set up an sat 4' away which made it impossible to have a conversation with each other. It stopped us from having dessert. I then noticed they did have another area (room) for bigger parties. Which is what should have been used. The manager did apologize to all of the smaller partie about the noise. You can smoke outside of the...
