Looking forward to a great evening of classic R&R with Robin Trower. Entered the theater to a very nice lobby. A small bar was selling beverages that we could take into the theater. This was rare for a place like this. We were guided to our seats by an usher. The theater is well taken care of and the seats were comfortable with great view of the stage. The lights dimmed just after eight and canned music started to play. Robin Trower and his band mates entered the stage and started to play. I thought it odd that there was no emcee to tell the audience about the exits and the use of cell phones, etc. as other venues of this sort normally do. Oh well the music was like we just stepped back 50 years, classic Robin Trower. As the band was playing, security people and ushers started roaming up and down the aisles shining flashlights into the crowd. I wondered why. Then it dawned on me they were trying to get people to put their phones away and to stop recording or shooting photos. This went on for the first two songs. Then there was someone behind us that caught the attention of an usher and a security guard. They stopped at the end of our aisle and shined their flashlights in our faces. It was rude and pretty much ruined our evening. I’ve been to many concerts in venues like this but never saw this type of behavior from a theater. Can only assume that Robin Trower required it or the Theater did. Also, the sound quality was awful! Couldn’t understand any word...
Read moreRecently became a member and with membership I receive advance notice and closed to public ticket purchase allowing me to choose tickets for best seats. At times it may be front balcony ( Lazer light shows), front pit ( Carbonaro) or somewhere in the middle ( Motown ). This year's end of season will be Queen (this guy is excellent, saw him last year from front balcony ), this year opted for front center ( sweat drip ) seating. They just added a show featuring music by Christine McVie and my FLAVORITE Stevie Nick's 😍. Read moreThe theater is very attractive. All volunteers and personnel are courteous and helpful. The seats are reasonably comfortable. We saw the Rhythm of Dance, a performance of beautiful music and amazingly athletic dancing. The one sour note was that masses of patrons arrived late and were seated well after the performance had begun. Repeatedly, our view was obstructed. Some patrons were seated a full half hour after the show had begun. At one point during this late-seating process, we had to stand up to allow a group to be seated in our row. The same group didn't even return after the intermission. Throughout the show, before and after the intermission, patrons were allowed to wander in and out. (I'm not talking about an emergency trip to the restroom, but individuals seeking to refill drinks or purchase bags of chips.) The repeated disruptions were enough to seriously mar our experience, and to turn what would have been a 5-star review into a 4-star review. I don't want to discourage anyone from experiencing the wonderful Sunrise Theater, but in the future, I'll think twice about purchasing pricey tickets to a performance that will likely be disrupted by a practice that most theaters I've attended...
