Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Fort Scott

Sonic is the all-American drive-in. Without a doubt. Hamburgers of every variety, hot dogs/coneys with lots of available toppings, chicken or fish sandwiches, and of course, fries, tater tots, or onion rings! Every one seems to have its own local flavor on the menu, too - some places have nachos (with a wide variety of cheese and toppings), others have fried okra or mushrooms, still others have hoagies, or extra-loaded varieties of hotdogs, or other "specials", and the variety from place to place is nice.

Some Sonics have indoor or covered outdoor eating areas, but the basic design is the standard drive-in. You pull in to your stall, you have the menu on one side, and either a big display of their available special slushie mixes, or ice cream varieties, or specialty drink mixes - always something tasty to tempt your tastebuds! You push a button to speak to the helper inside, tell them your order, and you can either pay right at the menu display kiosk with a debit/credit card or pre-loaded gift card, or pay with cash when the carhop brings your order.

They all play a nice variety of music in the background, on outdoor speakers, not too loud, but loud enough for your enjoyment. It's often rock oldies from the '60s or '70s, but can be new pop music, too. It varies from hour to hour, or seems - perhaps it's on a pre-recorded broadcast, or perhaps it's choice of the manager in charge for that time of day. On NUMEROUS occasions I’ve given this store the benefit of the doubt, but this store is shi*. First two times I’ve ever came to this store I ordered two Bacon Cheeseburgers. They delivered them with no bacon, when informing the staff of such they refused to take the sandwiches and remake them or even just add the darn bacon. Instead brings us bacon in a container for 1 of our 2 sandwiches. So had to complain again. This happened twice.

Now today I placed an order on the app ordering a Double Patty Melt and wanted to add Hickory Sauce. This was not allowed in the app, so I added a couple sides of BBQ sauce and placed my order. Right before my carhop walks out the Manager approaches saying it’s going to be .25 a piece for the sauces in a very aggressive mean manner. Then once my food is delivered the Asian lady demands change for the sauces which I had already paid by card since the manager imputed it into the POS on my stall. Wanted to argue with me stating I didn’t pay.

I will never return to this location and will never recommend it to anyone. What happened to the family oriented...

When arriving took 4 minutes for a response on speaker, children working were to busy laughing on the speaker to get my order had to repeat 3 times, order was still wrong had to send back 3 of 4 sandwiches. Was over chard for chili chz tots that were supposed to be regular tots. Asked for girls name laughing on speaker was told I couldn't have it but they would get me a manager. When the 16 year old manager came out she just stared at me. I asked if she was the manager she said yes. I asked for my refund and to ha e food done right. She grabbed the food turned and walked away. No, sorry no smile nothing, called corporate said I'd get a call from owner that never happened. So I nor the other 4 people in my car will be returning to ftscott sonic. As we believe the owner does not care for his customers.
