Blue-collar conservative laid back for the most part. First time I stepped foot in Suzy Q's, was in November 2001, thus I had just moved nearby the area. I believe I was 24 then, and worked at Whirlpool. It was an experience I'll never forget from 2001 to about 2012 off and on. It's a place one can be themselves, as long as you are not looking for trouble and antagonizing others. If a person comes in with the wrong attitude and begins picking on the regulars, this place can become a hornet's nest, hence the FSPD will be there ASAP. There are some dopped up jokers, bad alcoholics, and or people with mental issues that go to the dive bars in Fort Smith. Consequently, their addictions fuels the fire with a poor attitudes. These kinds of people will be kicked out or 86'd in a heartbeat. Or in time if they keep it up. Most of the regulars here and Carol the owner will give their shirts off their backs, if they have to the regulars they know very well that do not cause much drama, steal, or cause problems. My girlfriend and I came down in 2018. They remembered me and we were welcomed with open arms, given Suzy Q free tshirts, and caps. Being, I have been living in North Dakota since December 2012. Overall, a good blue collar bar and laid back for the most part. Probably best jukebox music and cheaper drinks in town. It's a classic rock bar for...
Read moreI have always liked this bar until recently. Last time I was there, I went out back to get some air and near the back door there was stock beer on a shelf. Being empty handed at the moment, I grabbed one and then kindly notified the bar tender Mary that I did and asked her to put it on my tab. I didn't think anything of it and she didn't voice any concern. Well, later that evening I did the same thing except this time she all of a sudden had a problem with it, then proceeded to ban me "when she is there," was her words. Not only that, other men there proceeded to aggressively assist her in kicking me out as if I was causing trouble or acting out and not leaving when she asked. Her reaction to second time against me doing exactly what I did the first time was uncalled for and unnecessary. She acted as if i was stealing it and even acussed me of that even though i clearly notified her and was more than willing to pay for it. Very unprofessional. Being that I have no way of knowing when she is there, I am forced to take my business elsewhere. I recommend others to do the same for as long as she remains an employee there. It's sad how one sour puss, and I know not what I did to make her sour at me, can ruin...
Read moreBest priced drinks so far in any bar I've been to. Prices ranging from $2-$3 for beer and around $5 more for hard liquor. Up to a $1 for light snacks. Got 4 snank size Slim Jims for $1 which is awesome for a protein food to hold me over. I was a little cold and I asked if they served any hot beverages to drink. They had coffee with your choice of cream and sugar. I was surprised coffee was free which is awesome to know in the future. Friendly regulars. It was my first time coming to the bar and I would...
