I love the food here! There is nothing more to say about that, definitely blows five guys out of the water. However their customer service is terrible. For as many times as I stop in there I have only seen one person that is genuinely happy and talkative with customers. Most of the employees just talk to each other and carry-on in the kitchen and will sometimes make you wait for a few seconds if you walk up before they will acknowledge you. I work in a sales business that survives off of customer service so I understand that even if the days not going as planned you still put on a happy face for your customers. The last time I was there however, it was a relatively slow day and my brother came to town and we were catching up there because it is his favorite spot. We ended up sitting around that night up until closing catching up. The main girl there had short hair but I didn't get her name. Anyways 15 minutes before closing she starts walking around and slowly doing closing procedures and putting chairs on top the counters which I didn't mind because they were pretty slow. About five minutes before closing however they started turning the music up about every minute noticeably different. This was very apparent and was very rude however we continued talking because it wasn't closing yet and we were in the middle of a very important conversation. About two minutes from closing the person in the back turned up the volume to the point where it was blaring, and you would have to yell to hear the other person. The main girl wouldn't look at us and was basically pretending like we weren't there. To me that just felt like a middle finger to us. Like I said I work at a sales store and I understand that sometimes is annoying people stay after closing, but even 10 minutes after closing isn't a big deal because every store has closing procedures and you can start working on those while you are finishing up. If we do drop subtle hints to our customers that we are about to close we might just turn the TVs and the store sound off. If it gets maybe 15 minutes past closing we might turn off the front row of lights inside the front door just so that for people coming up it doesn't look like were still open, but we want to respect the customers there still spending money enjoying our store. That is a retail sales, but this is a restaurant. I am very concerned that if they are trying to leave at 9 o'clock on the dot then their kitchen qualities must be terrible. Kitchens have to assume that people will stay around and talk for a few minutes after closing and it is standard for most restaurants to stay at least 30 minutes after close and clean if not longer. I am just really disappointed by staff and if you have a bad staff your business will never succeed, but I will probably still come back because the food is awesome but I might take to...
Read moreTook the kids to Brava's Food truck last night. First time for us. Great food, great service, only downfall was no seating and a bit pricey for a quick bite for family of 4 I understand it's local and also cost of everything has gone up...so considering the time, effort, customer service and quality of food, I'd still say it was worth it. Just limits how often you can afford to go. $30+ for 2 burgers and fries+ drink. Our two teenagers got to eat, and enjoyed it greatly....but for us it wasn't in the budget to try for ourselves. We were on a large Family park/dinner date...or was supposed to be... However, for us parents on a budget, summer vacation, hoping to enjoy together as a family for the first time visit, found it frustrating we weren't even able to try it for ourselves. Was great and also sad for us watching our kids and other family members enjoying what was supposed to be family dinner(for us a slight parent date, as we used to look forward to food truck picnics) yet not being a part of it due to cost or not carrying cards/extra cash downtown was a bit hard.
We were so excited to finally try Ft.Wayne's famous Brava's Burger. Having never tried or been to their old restaurant location.
We were still able to get the kids dinner and have some family time, yet, My husband still felt bad. Not only that we couldn't join them, but he had planned to get food, let the kids go to Aunt and Uncle's for game night, and then we'd take ours back to the park for our picnic date. packed a blanket and everything. As a parent and a husband.... he was frustrated and felt he failed/disappointed and embarrassed his family all due to it being a surprise and not knowing cost🥺😢 In a very pricey time with everything right now, it made us wish they had a small snack style combo. Maybe with a mini burger/standard hot dog/BLT small sandwich paired with some of their famous potatoes and a bottle of water. Would make it a bit easier for parents and also for the smaller kids or for the workers who need a quick grab and go workers lunchbox. Would have allowed for us to accomplish an affordable family dinner as well as our picnic together.....Just an idea....
I did steal some of the potatoes out of my daughters box and OMG... So good. I'd take those over fries any day. The aioli is great as well and considering my son, who only eats ketchup, used it instead... it was mind blowing. Hopefully you sell that bottled for purchase. 😆
Even though our picnic/family dinner didn't go as planned... We are looking forward to hopefully, visiting another time and having our Brava's picnic date.
We are Ft.Wayne proud of your establishment and so fortunate and happy to still have Brava's around. We love you and our family and children thank you for your great service and full...
Read moreWoah! It’s not every day that you find an amazing burger like the one I found here. Seriously. I went in just happy to find a local spot that sources local ingredients and has fun with their menu. But there are so many disappointing burgers out there, I wasn’t gonna get my hopes up.
I’d studied the menu and knew what I wanted going in - the Campechano Burger and Beef n Cheddar Patatas. The burger had a thick patty of chorizo, roasted peppers & onions, cheese sauce, spicy pickle mayo and pico. The spicy ness from the chorizo and mayo were at the perfect level and was evened out by the creamy cheese sauce. So much flavor!! The Patatas have more of that awesome cheese sauce AND confit beef shank. The meat is tender and such a treat! I kinda wish they were just a little bit more generous with the amount....but overall I just love this side. I enjoyed that the potatoes really were crispy on the outside (I hate when I’m served chunks of potato that are just soft). So this really was the perfect pregnancy food because CARBS.
I loved this place so much that only a month later we visited again since Ft. Wayne was on the way to our final destination. Hubby got the Campechano and loved it, too! His only word of advice - get the smashed patty because it’s the perfect balance between burger patty and toppings (the bigger patty kind of throws things off).
They also offer rotating specials. On our first visit, my friend Mr. S ordered it and was very pleased. On our second visit, I was very tempted (the burger had pesto and kale, mmmmm).
This place doesn’t have their own parking lot (n, the one behind them isn’t theirs and you will be towed). But we didn’t have any trouble finding nearby street parking in either visit.
Everything is quite casual. You order at the counter and get your own cutlery, condiments and drinks. Find a seat. This place is small-ish, but because it’s deep, so it still feels spacious. Be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes for your food because everything is made fresh. WORTH IT. When you’re done, clear your table and stack you trays, plates and cups. Also, enjoy playing one of their video games! And no worries if you have little ones, they have high...
