We got to the restaurant right before lunch rush so there weren't that many people there yet. Things started out with tortilla chips that appeared to be from a bag and heated under a broiler cans out with salsa that appeared to be strained tomatoes with 3 small pieces of cilantro in it. We ordered a side of queso cheese and our waitress returned promptly with an extremely thin and watered down white queso that probably came from a can. She then said she would be right back. Right back must have meant 15 minutes while we watched her wait on and take orders for lunch from 3 other tables plus bring them their bar drinks.
When our food got to the table my two daughters who both ordered tacos with their meal were almost completely cold. Another 5 minutes trying to find the waitress and I told her what had happened. She brings one taco instead of 2 so I had to make it clear again that two were bad. This time a guy who may have been the manager brought the other taco and the only thing he said was "everything else good" then walked away without us being able to respond.
I ordered their signature fajitas which you would think would be great since they had the name of the restaurant on them. If you like meat and veg smoldering hot without any seasoning (not even salt or pepper) on it not to mention being cooked to the point that the chicken and shrimp were both tough and dry then you would love it.
The refried beans would have been better if they would have bought them in a can from the local grocery store.
My dad had a side of beans with his meal that looked good, but other than an extremely small back ground heat, had no flavor or seasoning. The beans were also over cooked to the point they were mushy. He thought his meal was good and he offered a bite of his main dish. The flavor that I got from the bite was anything but good. I'm not sure how to describe it other than to say think shredded beef with Mexican seasoning, add sweet Italian marinara sauce heavy on oregano, and then wrap it in a tortilla.
I will not be going back to...
Read moreFirst and last time coming to this location. Everything was good until it was time to pay!!!! Server was great, food was great, amount of food excellent, nice atmosphere. The lady (not our server) came over to our table to pay with a handle held machine I paid for my part of the food (the bill was not split) I gave my tip and signed she pressed another button for 20% instead of the tip I chose to give. Thank goodness I get notifications from my bank right away so I stopped her to communicate that there was a mistake and that you charge me too much and she communicated no your meal was this amount and that was all charged . I showed her my phone with the amount she tried to go back in the handheld but could not pull back up the transaction she went to go ask for assistance and came back to show me the amount that was charged. I noticed that the 20% amount for a tip was on there when I know I put in the amount of the tip that I wanted to leave so she communicated she will give me back my change AND YOU WILL!!! My friend came back from using the restroom and let’s just say she has limited experience with cash transactions so she gave her all her money before i could better assist her i tried to take the money back and she moved her hand and said thats the tip I told her how can you tell somebody what tip they gone leave but she was OK with leaving the amount of the tip. I communicated you make sure you get your receipt so you can show your mom that this is what you left for a tip. Just very unprofessional but the moral to the story is watch people with your transactions I could of asked for the manager but you can obviously tell this has been going on for awhile at this location I can’t speak for other locations but what better way then to let other people be aware I understand times are hard and you may not get the recognition or tips you feel you should but stealing from people is...
Read moreLeaving a review since there was a big sign at the cash register asking us to leave a Google review. The two of us got lunch there today. Meat was bland / poorly seasoned as usual, however, we have come to accept that and rely instead on the provided toppings for flavor. Easily the blandest meat of any Mexican restaurant we've eaten at though, please fix this someday. The big issue with the visit didn't come until the end. We were given the bill for our two meals with prices that clearly did not match the menu price for lunch (was 2pm-ish, well within lunch hours per their menu). Brought this up to the waiter and he said 'no those are lunch prices'. I reassured him that they were not. He came back, apologized, and said he fixed it. He updated one price, but not the other. I explained that that price was also wrong and he said they didn't have that item on the lunch menu. I went and got the menu and confirmed that it was indeed there, for a lunch price, exactly where we were pointing when we ordered the food in front of the waiter. In the end I had to fight him on both items being charged incorrectly as he argued with me and tried to tell me they were priced correctly or weren't on the lunch menu.
If you're going to argue with your customers at the very least know what you're talking about. I should not have to go get a menu to prove you wrong. Consider saying something like 'oh sorry, let me check on that for you'. Then if it turns out the customer is wrong, that happens, just explain it to them. Arguing with us and acting like we have no idea what we're talking about cost you our usual $10 tip (on a $22 bill btw) and got your restaurant a 1 star review on Google. All of that could have been avoided with a little bit of tact and spending a moment to double-check...
