I have been here before. That is what brought us back for our last visit. Sara's is what I would call an American Food Diner restaurant. The menu is full of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner choices. Yesterday, we ordered off of a Lunch Specials menu. I shared the Chicken Stir-Fry meal with Fried Rice and Spring Rolls. Now, in my mind I never think of a Stir-Fry as a certain 'style'. I enjoyed the dish, the Spring Rolls were nice and crispy and the filling was tasty. The Rice had the pieces of Egg and the Vegetables and Chicken were nice. The chicken was tender. The Sauce - on the chicken and vegetables, that was my problem. I found it a bit salty, that (cliche') style Sauce. I would suggest getting it on the side so it can be controlled - limiting it on the food. That being said, my daughter seemed to have no issue with it and ate everything. We also ordered, a Mac and Cheese stuffed Quesadilla that had ham and bacon. I am told that it was Very Good with the Mac and Cheese being very creamy. The meal also came with a bowl of Green Bean Casserole. Over all it was an enjoyable meal. The waitress did a great job. Also, the Atmosphere has an Americana theme with presidential and first lady references. In the end, I wish I had ordered off their Regular Menu which has plenty of choices I really like including the All Day...
Read moreGreat food, huge portions, and very friendly staff! We went earlier on a Friday evening, because we were celebrating our daughter's 9th birthday, and she wanted mac and cheese with a side of mac and cheese, and we could get it for her there. She loved it, said it was awesome...she's a little connoisseur of mac and cheese. My husband got one of the huge stuffed potatoes...he loved it, but it was too big to finish. Our 12 year old had a cheeseburger and fries...he loves both, and said both were great! I ordered the chicken finger dinner, which came with fries and mac and cheese. I requested coleslaw instead of mac and cheese, and they were happy to accommodate. Their fries are great! The chicken fingers are so good, and you get a lot...our son finished both my fries and chicken fingers. The coleslaw was delicious, and you get a lot, so my husband finished it for me. The decor is very Americana, with lots of photos/paintings of presidents. Both parties, so no reason to be uncomfortable. And lots of knick knacks. It's a very nice restaurant for families. Oh, and our kids loved playing tic tac, which they have the grid painted on the table. Our kids thought it was fun to mark their turns with different kinds on coffee creamers! We've been a few times, and...
Read moreQuite disappointing food. Usually the pecans are IN pecan pancakes. Also the pancakes were quite over mixed, which makes them chewy and tough and hard to swallow. The gravy on the biscuits and gravy was under salted. My wife's beef Manhattan was pretty decent, but it might have been beef from a can with the gravy already in the can. Also I would have thought it would come on something a step up from bagged white sandwich bread from the store. The bacon was under cooked, not crisp, the fat part was floppy. The eggs was cooked well. The menu is like 16 pages which says to me they can't focus on what they do best, and to be able to make all of the things on the menu they are getting a lot of the makings from frozen food and a can. They did nail the whole Patriotic America food joint thing, which is what you want while you eat chicken and waffles, Donald Trump's picture judging you above the table. The space is a little tight, but clean. The staff were quite friendly, but I don't go to a restaurant to meet new friends in going to be served food, and it should be better than what I can buy at Kroger and warm up at home. This was not. Bare minimum requirements of any restaurant is clean and friendly, so, a start for...
