I've been going to Dos Margaritas since they've open and I fell in love with their fajitas and guacamole. Recently I learned that Los Lomas is owned by the same people and they have the same menu and everything and its much closer to my house so I decided to give them a try. We went in to the restaurant and were seated in what looked like a room that was well over do for some maintenance. The atmosphere of a restaurant has never mattered to me much, so long as the foods good. We ordered our drinks and fresh made guacamole which they are suppose to make in front of you and is one of my favorites at Dos Margaritas. They brought out pre-made guacamole which still tasted good, but wasn't quite the same and definitely not what I ordered. About 15 minutes later the waiter (who evidently was new) asked us if we wanted anything else (apparently dumbfound that we actually wanted dinner and not just appetizers) and proceeded to take our orders. I ordered a pork fajita and my girlfriend order a taco. When we got our food (about 30 minutes later) the waiter apologized because they took so long to make our foods and promptly left for the bathroom. When I went to eat my food they served me a pork chicken and steak fajitas. At this point our waiter never came back so we had to flag down another waitress and tell her the problem where she apologized and had a manager come out and retake my order. He apologized and said it was his fault for not supervising his new waiter and about 10 minutes later they brought out my pork fajitas that had mushrooms on it, which I don't believe are put on fajitas in any part of the world and are definately not on theirs in their menu. At this point I didn't want to say anything else for fear of the wait staff tampering with my food, so we bagged up our food and waited another 15 minutes to finally flag down the other waitress that helped us the first time to tell her that we needed our check. She looked kinda furious and went back to the kitchen and sent us out our original waiter who gave us our check. When we went to pay I had to point out that our waiter had charged us for a much more expensive fajita on our bill and then the manager only comped us $4 off our bill for the horrible dining experience. I would have normally been much more upset and refused to pay even a dime for the meal, but my girlfriend was having a bad day already and I didn't want to further upset her with my temper. I'm not sure if this was a one time thing or if this is usual for this restaurant, but needless to say I will not be coming back...
Read moreSeated at dirty table. Asked a server for towel but it wasn't her table so of course she had to go find out whose table we were so in the meantime I flag down bus boy to wipe down table. Bus boy only wipes off half of the table primarily in front if me as if and my family relish in the oppertunity to dine in someone else's filth. Server approaches table I ask for towel to clean off rest of table and she hands me dry towel to finish job. Takes order writes nothing down. Food arrives order is wrong. Wave down another server for quick fix to our order. 10 minutes later server checks to see if everything is ok tell her what was wrong comes back with correction. Co worker did not even relay pur needs let alone correct anything. Daughter is already finished so we ask for boxes. Server waits another 7 minutes before offering our $70 bill knowing her and her coworkers messed everything up. Paid bill was asked how everything was. Gave very honest answer and they offered not even an apology let alone compensation. Daughter dropped off and now we are headed home so we can warm up our food and eat dinner. So much for having a family dinner. Got home I lost my appitite. Summary there are to many superior mexican restaurants to be making these mistakes we will drive across town before ever returning. Side notes for servers never look at a table as your co workers table they are your future table but not us not for los lomas...
Read moreThis was my second time after about 12 years that I went back to Las Lomas. I went with friends who picked that spot for St. Patrick's Day. For starters, it is still really small. I guess they really can't help that but I was expecting a more open space with not so many people around me, cause ya know, Covid. I ordered a Long Island because I don't do margaritas. I should have known it would be a fail. It tasted like a super, sweet mix of some sort. Not at all what a Long Island should taste like. I ended up just sipping on several shot of 1800 and a Modelo. I ordered Papas Locas, or Crazy Potatoes. French fries smothered in a melty white cheese and a few crumbles of ground beef. Nothing more. For $10. No sour cream, lettuce, tomato, salsa- nothing! I don't plan to go back there. It just wasn't it for me. Typical American style "Mexican" food that was just subpar. The waiter was nice. They definitely had enough people there that my experience won't mean anything. It's just a reminder to me why the last time I went was over 12 years ago. I'll stick to Dos Margaritas, Albertos or...
