First I understand that ALL businesses have rules and policies that they follow. Also I know businesses value clients and can be accommodating to clients as well. Today I had an appointment mix up(this would have only been my 2nd visit), I had an appointment reserved for 10am for some reason I had 10:30. However I would arrive at 10:15, and my appointment time is allotted for 2 hours and 15 mins which means my appointment time would not be over until 12:15 p.m.I am annoyed and disappointed at Fridaās active listening, customer service and empathy skills. For a missed appointment they charged 102.00 for an appointment that is valued at $110.00. The lady who answered phone stated that the nail tech needs to be paid for their time. Of course she does. Itās not even 10:10 yet Iām on the way and will arrive at 10:15. So I humbly ask can I still just come since that time slot is for me and she can just do what she can. I explained that I just got my nails done there on June 25 and they were already lifting, breaking and chipping. I went on to explain that payment would still be made even if it wasnāt the full experience but at least my nails that are aging prematurely could be fix. I felt like that was fair. I explained to her how this was a bit unethical and how that time could still be used. They have nail fixes on their menu. And nail fixes on Fridaās menu says 30 mins I still had 2 hours left in my allotted time. Smh ridiculous. Also let me add that Frida also charged my card before the missed appointment. š Frida very well could have accommodated me, Frida could have showed NO empathy and understanding but instead they choose not too. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI got my nails done here for the first time today as a birthday gift from my parents. Maria was my tech and BOY OH BOY did she SLAY. She texted me pretty promptly after I booked my appointment and used my Pinterest to get a general idea of what I wanted AND to draw inspo for some CUTE suggestions. We ended up doing a baby blue cat-eye on my natural nail and adding some cutie scattered rhinestones. (I'll attach photos later!)
The salon itself is SO clean and cutie. I'm a regular at Cafe Momento which is in the same shop block so everything was comfortable and familiar! The music was vibey and fun and I loved how much natural light pours in. Maria was so kind and easy to talk to and I really enjoyed "hanging out" with her while she did my nails; she really made the whole experience feel so personal and not like I was a transaction to be had or a box to be checked. Her attention to detail is so admirable and I am seriously OBSESSED with how my nails turned out.

Ive been here to this location twice and both techs have had zero personality make no conversation or effort to have small talk nothing at all. I can appreciate having to focus and work on the nails but small talk at the beginning - hi how are you how has your day been - literally just basic friendly interaction that all people do - but nothing. I personally like to talk a bit rather than sit there in complete awkward silence for hours, i find that really weird and uncomfortable that they showed no friendliness and no personality.
