Today I ordered a carne asada burrito through door dash. Midway of eating my burrito I felt something pokey, at first I thought it was a bone but then I thought why would there be a bone. When I took the piece out of my mouth it was a piece of glass! I called the restaurant it said it came from, the Benbrook location. A man by the name of Jose answered the call. I explained to him what happened and why I needed to speak to a manager. He then told me to call the Camp Bowie location because that’s where the food is made, but to give him a minute to call the other location. I called as soon as I hung up. Another man answered I asked to speak to a manager and he told me they were not available, I then told him why I was calling and BOOM A MANAGER BECAME AVAILABLE. As I was speaking to the man I could hear Jose from the other location on the phone with a women, her words in Spanish “why did she call over there, why is she even calling. You know what she is already on the line here”. They passed her the phone and I asked if she was the manager, Claudia and she said yes but she only spoke Spanish. I then tell “I’m calling because I received my order from door dash and half way I noticed sometime pokey and it’s a piece of glass.” Her response “ we don’t use glass in our kitchen so you need to contact door dash.I explained to her again that it was in the middle of my burrito and the bag was sealed. If I could please have the names of the people who cooked my food, she declined. I even told her I could send her a photo since she did not believe me. In a rude tone she asked me in Spanish “ what do you want me to do about it.” I told her a refund and an apology and she did neither. Her response was to contact door dash. I told her I would file a claim with the health department, already has been done.Claudia gave me a phone number but when I sent her the photo it was the wrong number! I even repeated it back to her. DO NOT EAT THERE,...
Read moreGreat authentic place for Mexican food! Will come back here again and again!
Food: 5/5 I've been to California for Mexican food and grew up in Texas, and this is up there as one of the tastiest places for Mexican. Granted, there are a lot of really great Mexican restaurants or taco stands/trucks in Texas, but I want ya'll to know this is one of them! We got the quesadillas and the carne asada plate, both were $8.99 each. And let me tell you the portions are HUGE. The quesadillas came in 4 quarters (double order, you can tell them you want 1 order, which will be 2 slices) and they were overflowing with meat and cheese. The carne asada came with rice, beans, avocado, and 5 fresh tortillas (corn or flour) along with the meat! There is also 2 types of salsas on the tables, one is a green salsa and the other is a chipotle one.
Convenience: 4/5 How it works is you walk up to the kitchen counter inside this grocery store and you tell the ladies or gentlemen what you want. This is sometimes challenging because often times they don't speak very much English, but if you're a Spanish speaker then you're golden! The ladies I ordered from that day misunderstood one of my orders so that was slightly inconvenient, but the food was so good that I don't even care. They honestly could've given me anything off the menu and I would've been happy! This may not work for you but the trouble is definitely worth it in my opinion.
Overall: 5/5 The food was just so good that I'll do whatever it takes to come get some. I'll definitely be back to try their menudo, along with everything else on their menu. While you wait, you can shop for marinated meats, Mexican ice cream, candies, as well as other Mexican food related items. You can also order food to go if you rather...
Read moreOur favorite taqueria place. We drive an hour just to eat here, usually on weekends. It's a grocery store but us well known for their amazingly delicious food.
We've been coming here for 5 years since we found it during a soccer tournament in Ft Worth.
Don't mind the sketchy exterior, they are always busy every weekend we have been here.
They have an honor system. You place your order at the restaurant, don't worry, I don't speak spanish and never had issues. After they call out your food to grab. Just sit at one of their tables. We always ask for grilled jalapenos because we love spicy. So good!
Everything is 5* you will have no issues finding something to try.
The gorditas are huge! They are the size of your hand. My daughter is full off one but my boys eat 2.
The castillos de res comes with 4 tablitas (short ribs with bone), refried beans (my fave), rice, lettuce, tomato, and avocado. Sometimes, they are out of avocado but it's still delicious.
Caldo de res - 5* Everything - 5*
You pay at the cashier when you leave. Tell them what you ordered and that's it. We always grab ice cream bars on the way out. The prices are so cheap too. You won't regret trying this place out.
Check this place out if you are in Ft Worth. You...
